Why are you guys talking about the NFL? Did you read the article? Woody is talking strictly about the Cowboys. Who do you think he's referring to here....

#1 goal this off-season should be to get rid of Jaylon Smith.

Props to Woody for speaking up. More ex-Cowboys should be speaking up against this filth Jerry has built.
Yup friendly Jaylon. Honestly that angers me more than his play. He doesnt have a linebacker mentality

What do they think is going to happen when teams rarely even practice in pads anymore. It’s the wussification of the league and society in general.

It's not just the Cowboys. Tackling all across the NFL is terrible.

Exactly what I was going to say. It's all around the league. Not always, but for the most part defense across the league is played with much less intensity than in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I'm reminded of that every time I watch one of those throw back games and see 5-6 defenders converge and maul the ball carrier. You just don't see that anymore. Players are afraid of fines and penalties.

When you prohibit tackling at training camp that skill set will suffer in the regular season. Woody's observation is no surprise. They must teach tacking at the next training camp or they will get no better.

I would be interested in a PROFESSIONAL flag football game.

Shane love those blue uniforms in your avatar along with the darker jerseys with dark pants worn in the SB loss to the colts. Wish we would go to either one and leave the blue uniforms along.

You wouldn't think this would be an issue at the pro level, especially since these guys being tackling since pee wee football. So it's not they can't or don't know how....which brings me to coaching. Sit them down if they won't tackle, plain and simple.

It's fricking terrible to watch. This team as a whole are a bunch of over paid underachievers. Break out the chopping blocks this off season!!!!!!!

Woody would have been suspended and heavily fined if he played today.
The only reason I disagree with you is Jaylon Smith. Jaylon is at the top of the league in tackles and he hits like a girl on a lot of plays. Woodson was a hard hitter, but he was more of a smart player/leader on the field.

It's not just the Cowboys. Tackling all across the NFL is terrible.
If they touch the QBs head, grab the neck hole of the jersey on the back, graze the face mask, lead with the head, roll into the QBs legs, hit a WR that while he’s trying to catch the ball, or tackle the QB too hard they get flagged and potentially fined and suspended.
So not surprising really, the game might as well be flag football.
