maybe he felt that rather than have a snitch talk about him to the media he'd just bring the firestorm onto himself.

the media's gonna overreact just like they did w/ Randy Moss's "mooning" incident. Who knows what Hall was saying. Maybe he said something about his kid Terique or his OD and it struck a nerve.

Has Terrell Owens ever done anything like that before? No, so I think that he had to have had a pretty damn good reason (to him) to do it. It's not like he's Romanowski, a guy known for having a dirty streak on the field.

I'd at least wait and give Owens the opportunity to explain the situation

Go Cowboys!

I don't think he will. He will take the punishment from the team and the league and let this little brush fire die. I think he is starting to realize that if he tries explain himself the media tries to make him look even more childish and unstable.

Hilarious. You down chivalry, yet promote machismo.

The mouse list is filling quite nicely.

Football is about machismo.

Look at the reporting. Look at the ads.

I'm not downing chivalry..I'm saying it's promoted when its needed to glorify the game, but the dirty little secret about it all is that it's all about intimidation, imposing your will on the other team and playing right on the edge of uncontrolled violence.

At least at the NFL level. That's the facts.

Ask Guerode, our center, about chivalry. He had his face purposely stepped on with cleats while not looking and was scarred earlier this year.

The offender apologized and he got fined and suspended.

I'm sure Owens will get fined by the NFL. But spitting and disfiguring are light years away in severity.

Owens doesn't hurt other players, he doesn't use drugs, he not a sexual deviant, etc. All the things he gets critizied for are self-inflicted. It's his mouth...and now his spit..that gets all the media attention.

I'm Ok with what he is. There is a TO on every talented team. A guy that isn't going to be intimidated by players, coaches or fans. But plays like a psycho on Sunday and gets results and is a difference maker.

Shockey is easily TO's equal. Randy Moss is another. And numerous others all around the NFL. These are guys that set the pace and give identities to their positions and teams when they produce. Their teammates may not always agree with them or condon their behavior, but they play along side them on Sunday because there is a war going on out there on Sundays, folks.

TO stepped up and in crunch-time propelled us to a win last night. Without him stepping up last night, we don't win.

Keep it coming, TO.

You 'da Man.

It's not 'chivalry', Jack, which is an increasingly archaic response to the difficulties of life with grace and courage.

THAT is most certainly in its death throes.

It's just common, old ordinary sportsmanship and human dignity/decency.

You don't spit in another person's face.

It's just that simple.

Good grief....Owens was the only guy out there that stepped up last night. That statement dilutes the whole position you;re taking.

I don't need any lesson from the likes of the Madden07 generation on what it takes to produce winning football. You may have defined ONE way, but it's not the universal way, not the only way. It's just easier to support that way for most of you because it requires less maturity, less dignity, and less character.

You ignore MB3 stepping up last night, Romo, Ware, Glenn, Witten. Without them, I'd say it's safe to say we wouldn't of won either.

And since you missed it, there is an amount of chivalry in machismo. See John Wayne. You're talking punk machismo....one of those oxymorons.

WRONG AGAIN, Jack.

Owens singlehandedly won that game for us last night.

It was the one they've all been waiting for, because winning any other way (ie, via TEAM) leaves sniffers vaguely dissatisfied. Like they got free crackerjacks with no prize whistle.

Don't you dare take this away from them, like Owens took it away with his spit.:D

Negative. At least don't put words in my mouth. Numerous players stepped up last night. However, there's no denying the 2 TD contribution of Owens. It was the difference. Any other WR on D Hall wouldn't have done it. The haters have all propped D Hall up about how great he is so this shouldn't be up for debate. ;)

Well, who propped up Hall here?

Certainly wasn't me... we've known he couldn't wipe the sweat off Tnew's brow since last year at least.

Highly over-rated, and has been for awhile, imo.

And we've got at least three receivers here who could do a number on him.

I respect your opinion. But TO ME spitting is classless. Yes we need toughness more agressiveness and you can do that in this game without being classless. His play did ALL the talking all he had to do was give him the ball on that 51 yarder and told him he owned him. And walked away

Spitting happened before Hall got pwned. Matter of fact the spitting may be the reason he pwned.
