David Arkin in Garretts words

To be fair, more often than not it's the right decision. Besides, they'll gamble when it's worth it -- look at Dez Bryant.
by Dez you mean someone who actually has talent and showed that from day 1

Arkin is a typical example how this orginization gets cute when drafting projects

No arguments there. I just think the RKG thing has nothing to with why Arkin is a flop.

he has had three years now. Three camps. And still only makes the active roster when someone goes down for injury. says it all there.

How about we get Right Kind of Players instead of Right Kind of (Just A) Guy?

Bill Parcelles said that after 3 years you have a pretty good idea what a player is going to be in this league. After 3 years Arkin is on the practice squad.

I disagree. Character builds winning football teams. You see at every single level of football.
The Cowboys should sign me! I'm 5'10" 160lb and I have excellent character! If you paid me multi-millions I promise you I will always be the first one on the field and the last one off. For millions of dollars? I will be the best locker room presence, I'll give Dez hugs on the side-line to chill him out, and even rub down DeMarcus Ware's sore back after games! I'm a real team player when you pay me millions of dollars.

Hell I'm such a team player I'll even help with the salary cap by signing to the NFL minimum $375,000 a year. That's just the kind of guy I am that I'll happily work for only $375k a year. I'm at least no less useful at playing football as David Arkin and am even higher character so sign me today Jason Garrett!

No one ever said he would be ready in 2 years. We knew this. He's not Frederick.

You don't draft a player that high if they won't be ready to contribute within 2 years. One sure, but two? No chance when you'll only have them under contract for 3 + 1 restricted year. Spending three years developing a player and taking up a roster spot for one year of production is not how you become successful.

Good news is, it's almost year 4 so Arkin is gonna kill it next year and earn a mega contract.
