David Irving failed a drug test and is now facing a suspension

It's just the silliness that is the NFL. Every other team has these suspensions, too.

Guaranteed...if we cut him to make a statement, he will be signed by another team the week he's reinstated.

Oh so now it's week 1.....way to change it. Collins and Brown both started last year on defense

They wouldn't have started if it wasn't for injuries is my point... Not exactly rocket science, they happened to be the next guys up in the depth chart. If Mo and Scandrick didn't miss time Brown would have barely seen the field last year. Collins still would have gotten snaps in the rotation, but he wouldn't be the starting 3 tech if Crawford wasn't forced to DE.

But if it's PEDs, will it impact his effectiveness as a pass rusher?

It very well could. No matter what anyone thinks about the situation, for him to appear like superman in some games and disappear in others really has to make you wonder at this point what he was doing in those good games.

All we can do is wait and see, but it really does put his past performances in question.

If we keep him they will say we harbor criminals. Is the Patriots sign him the same media will give them kudos for giving troubled players a safe haven for rehabilitation. We can't win on this deal.

Yep and Jones wouldn't have started either right. Or Gregory or Smith. You sure do change things.

Did rookies start yes or no? Doesn't matter how you slice it they started and produced. Not only that they kept the job

It almost seems as if the league office is looking at the cowboys roster every off season and thinking to themselves "hmmm....who can we suspend that will have the most impact on their season".

never ******* fails with this team

You said it!!

Double meaning pic.

No biggie..... we are loaded at DT

He might win the appeal...... trying to get an endorsement

Either way it is only 4 games and no extra testing...... not like weed

Anyone talking about cutting him is really ill-informed

This is just plain dumb. FIRST you check to make sure the supplement is approved by the NFL BEFORE YOU TAKE IT.

Instead this nitwit pops the pill and THEN apparently does not even bother to check with the NFL about it.

All valid points. But my understanding of the NFL rule is a player isn't suspended the first time he tests positive for a banned substance; he is simply entered into the league's substance abuse program.

If this is indeed the case, Irving was dumb twice over. Not good.

I can remember the good old days of the 1990's, when the Cowboys were winning Super Bowls despite widespread use of performance decreasing substances.

You cited the recreational drug policy. He failed the PED policy. Automatic 4 games.

i think the best we can hope for is the minimum 4 games. Regardless of the mitigating circumstances that may or may not remove fault, rarely does the league waive any suspensions based on violation of the PED policy

Isn't the max 4 games for first time PEDs offenders, Pugilist?

You guys are acting like we just lost Reggie White. Irving has been the definition of a jag, he has like 2 breakout games since he has been here and apparently that was the juice kicking in,

This is not going to affect our season because some JAG defensive end got busted for juicing. And apparently the juice wasn't all that great either because he went Beast Mode in 2 games over the last two seasons.
