They were not all added last offseason but instead since 2012 with Manning. Thanks for playing though.

They added 4 marquee free agents in the one off-season, the 2014 off-season. The Broncos were just embarrassed in the Super Bowl and went out and did something about it. Let's see what we do after coming off 4-12.

Ware, Ward, Sanders, and Talib.

I think Bruce Irvin is going to Atlanta or Jax.

Jenkins would be a good fit for Cowboys.

Your one example of success ignores the rest of history including free agency sprees within our club and division. Remember Dan Snyder and free wheeling Jerry?

Sanders and Ward are nice players but they aren't marquee. We are not anywhere near a super bowl. Pretending that we are in the same position as Denver is gratuitous at best.

Ward is a 2 time Pro Bowler and Sanders has gone over 1000 yards the last two years. I would gladly sign their free agent equivalents this year versus the Andrew Gachkar's, Jasper Brinkley's, and Mackenzy Bernadeau's of the world.

I don't think we are as close as Denver but that means we should be more aggressive in improving the team.

Also, I think we are a healthy Romo AND an improved defense away from competing. Would hate to waste another year of Romo on a defense that can't stop anyone when it matters.

Then you look at the deals they signed. If you can get good players to sign for short deals at less than $6m AAV then great. Denver's success has been in getting good players to sign for less. I'll await your magic wand.

You want to act aggressive for the sake of being aggressive. That smacks of desperation to me. I still like the much better track record of building through the draft and targeting specific free agents as opposed to the carpet bombing approach. You better hit on all of them or you hamstring yourself.

It's not being aggressive for the sake of being aggressive, but not being aggressive with the limited time we have left with Romo is a mistake.

Building through the draft should happen regardless. All teams get to draft. How long do we wait? Another 5 years? How about 20?

The Cowboys have never had an issue being creative with contracts, specifically 1st years of contracts. They just have done it with re-signing their own players as opposed to going out and signing free agents.

Like I've said many times on this board, free agency doesn't have to be feast or famine. You can be strategic and identify players who fill needs for you, whether that it is impact player or role player. Just because this team missed badly on Brandon Carr doesn't mean they should avoid high-dollar free agents. They just need to do a better job of identifying talent. Just months after signing Carr, they drafted Claiborne. It wasn't a free agent issue, it was a talent evaluation issue.
