But he should consistently draw double teams and hold up. Very few teams double Hayden as he gets turned and driven back too easily. THere were numerous videos on this the last couple of years.

He's a 1st and 2nd down player. He's a very disciplined player , and the coaches trust him to maintain his gap control on run downs. He's a solid player to have on the roster. Its up to Coleman to develope and eventually overtake that spot.

We're going to be cutting some of our best DL that we had last year.

One of the biggest transformations I've ever seen at a position group.

He and Bishop both played undertackle at the same time on many plays very rarely playing straight up 1 tackle.

He maintains his gap but gets driven back 5 yards on every play with a 1 on 1 block... SMH.

Has it been stated anywhere that Hayden is a lock? The formula should be...If he is a lock, who will get cut for him and will they be picked up by another team? Also, if Hayden is cut, would he be picked up by another team?

I'd cut McClain before any of them. Never healthy, and this is his 4th team. That's a ton of chances for a guy that doesn't do much. Cutting a guy like Bishop, with a great motor instead of McClain, would be a mistake

Not that I hope so, but I honestly think many of you are going to be disappointed. I'm not sure why but Marinelli loves him some Hayden. I honestly don't think he gets cut. I'd love to see it, don't get me wrong, especially in favor of youth...but the Cowboys likely he seem him as a consistent presence they can count on. The knock on Coleman since last year has been his consistency and his willingness to give his all on every play.

Hayden, Coleman, Bishop
Crawford, Crawford, Russell
Lawrence, Gardner

I'm fine with Edwards over Gardner, because there is only 1 year age difference. I'd keep Gardner because they have had 1 year to evaluate Edwards, they know what he is. Maybe Gardner is more, maybe not, but I'd like to find out.

Coaches see these guys everyday, they know who is buying into the system, putting the work in, and who is consistently playing up to their potential versus those just doing enough to collect a paycheck. Coleman has the tools...but not the consistency....gonna be interesting if he makes the roster or not.

Spags mentioned that he's seen McClain on first team STs in practice which is a pretty good indicator that you have made the team.

Coleman was quit the scouting find.

A great find at that, some great players were free agents-Bill Bates, Drew Pearson, ect.
