I do not think there is a rule that says they cannot sign another DT to take his roster spot.
We probably got rid of Coleman just to pick up Lavar Edwards again. I don't think Marinelli wants Ryan Russell on the field right now.
None that I know of. But there's also none that says that they couldn't fill Useless Whitehead's roster spot with one either.
I'm not understanding why Coleman was the 'churn' and not a guy like Whitehead who has contributed a big, fat, zero.

Neither do I. That was one of the worst performances I've seen by a rookie DE in quite some time. Russell is clearly not ready.

I think it is very likely they pick up Edwards. The really need another pass rushing DE until Hardy and Gregory return. Crawford is probably better suited for DT.
Probably would be better to have Edwards out there than Russell and move Crawford back to DT than to keep Coleman around. Makes the line less vulnerable to giving up gashing runs like it did against Atlanta because Edwards and Crawford are more assignment sound.
Russell might get there, but Coleman has a lot to prove in that regard. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back on the PS, though, because of that ability he flashes between bonehead decisions.
Darnell Docket??
