@DallasEast , I appreciate your take. I've read all the posts here and some of you guys are real fans of the comics. I am too but just not the extent you guys are.
The problem I have is I shouldn't have to be a relative expert on the comics, backstory and sub-plots to understand the film. You're filling in the plot holes with assumptions and best guesses based on your knowledge of the story line. That's a huge reach when these directors so routinely veer from the cannon and the comic universe. Nothing is sacred in these films.
To be honest, I've already forgotten about the movie. It's dead and buried to me. I'm a little agitated that people (ie: studios, directors, writers, producers, etc.) would take such iconic characters, story lines/back stories and completely butcher them on film.
