Yep, I'd say 58-14 in a span of 6 days more than erases the bad taste of 44-6. It wont make that game go away, but no longer do we have to hear about it incessently. We destroyed the Eagles twice in less than a week. Last week was pretty dominant, last night was just taking that sack of crap team from Philly to the woodshed. I hate their team. I hate their owner. I hate their fans. I hate their God-awful uniforms. Last night was sweet.

1) 6 times in 7 weeks now Romo has had a QB rating of at LEAST 104.0. His overall completion percentage in those 7 weeks is an incredible 67.4% He's thrown 2 picks in his last 255 attempts, and one of those was a lucky bounce. He is playing out of his head right now. He had two or three throws that werent great last night, but overall his command of the game, his accuracy and his level of overall play cannot be denied. He is definitely playing at a championship level.

2) 2008 first round. We land Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins. Both these guys are incredibly special players. Jones would have back to back games well over 100 yds if not for the officials stealing a 20+ yd run last week. And last night he was spectacular. Mike Jenkins learned a hard lesson about the lateral and he did let one td get by him, but the rest of his game was outstanding. He also hits people. Jones and the organization made a GREAT move to trade up and insure they got Jenkins last year.

3) Our OL basically ripped the Eagles a new one two weeks in a row. Knowing they had to do a better job vs the run than last week, I'm sure the Eagles spent all week making adjustments. Result- we rush for MORE yards. Mark Colombo got off to a slow start but as the game wore on he seemed to really get it going. I hope people will also realize how good Flozelle Adams has been. Trent Cole has been totally non existant these past two games, and Adams did it with little or no help.

4) According to Matt Mosley, the Eagles blitzed over 70% of the time last night. Yet our offense scored MORE points on them than they did a week ago. Jason Garrett is on a huge roll right now. The game plans have been flawless and the play calling has been outstanding. As Hos mentioned in his post, the way we are dominating time of possession is absolutely amazing. Last night 39:34, last week 40:23, Washington 35:02, New Orleans 36:26. And in each game over 30 rushing attempts.

5) Martellus Bennett has had a disappointing year stats wise. Probably 99% of people (including me) thought he'd be a huge factor in the passing game. He's been ragged all year. Some want him gone. But the guy blocks his tail off and on John Phillips TD, Bennett absolutely goes crazy celebrating with him. He hasnt let his lack of production get him down. He plays with fire. I still like this kid and think the sky is the limit for him. Maybe he does get traded in the offseason, but unless somebody offers a solid #1 pick for him, if I were Jones I'd hang up the phone. And by solid #1, I'm not talking about something late in the first round.

6) Ware and Spencer are as dominant of 3-4 OLB's as there has been since Pat Swilling & Ricky Jackson for the Saints in the late 80's/early 90's, and are approaching the levels of Taylor/Banks. These guys arnt one dimensional players either. Both are outstanding vs the run and both can play in coverage. Niether one of them can be blocked repeatedly with one guy.

7) The NFL should be absolutely ashamed of that pathetic display of officiating yesterday. I sorta thought that at least since it was a playoff game, the phantom calls, ticky b/s and the need to effect what seemed like every play would be minimized, but I was wrong. That was utter garbage. If not for the officials the past two weeks, we might have hung close to 100 pts on the Eagles. Now with league's special pet Favre next up, I cant imagine how bad and one sided its gonna be. The word is out and its loud and clear, opposing OL can do whatever they want as often as they want, and it aint gonna be called. The incredible discrepency in holding calls is just a joke.

8) Buehler and McBriar's impact on the game yesterday, and our season as a whole also cant be denied. Patrick Crayton is now a very solid punt returner. Our coverage units are excellent. The addition of Joe DeCamillis was genius. Give the man a raise.

9) Hats off to our secondary as a whole. Those who wanted Terence Newman gone, some crow is waiting for you. He's playing really well and with Jenkins and Scandrick, we have a trio of excellent cover guys. Ken Hamlin is playing his best football right now. Sensabaugh is doing well.

10) As for the Vikings game, its gonna be tough. They are a different team at home. They can score points via the pass or the run and unlike Philly, they can dink and dunk or go downfield. Can we stop the run with just our front 7? The upside is their defense can be had. Their secondary is weak and they dont force alot of turnovers. Block their front 4 and Romo could have a mega field day. Their run defense has really suffered since the loss of EJ Henderson. The other thing is their offensive tackles are turn stiles.

11) Finally for Wade, I was a huge doubter. I didnt think we could take the next step with him. I was wrong, the team seems to have taken the next step. These last 4 games are the best stretch we've had since the 91-95 Cowboys. The defensive game plans and play calling is superb. The team is playing with emotion. He said after last season he wanted to see us become a defensive oriented team that could run the ball and control the clock, and thats exactly what this team has become. Only we have the added bonus of having tremendous skill people who can still make explosive plays.

It was also Bennetts block that sprung Felix on the long TD.

I wouldn't blame the officials for the penalties. That was very sloppy at times. Discipline definitely has to improve. We've always had the talent to succeed, focus and discipline have been lacking under Wade.

Confidence and talent might overcome the mistakes. When they execute, they're fantastic.

I don't know if that sounded like Wade-bashing - not my intent. He's had a profound affect on the defence this year. Love it.

Thats fine, you can not blame them if you choose. But I do. I watch too much football and see the vast difference in how certain things are called (or not called) when we're not involved.

The Eagles OL was totally overmatched in two straight games, and even with a replacement center and backup guard out there, they're OL wasnt flagged on a SINGLE play for holding. I'm sorry, but its a joke. Just like alot of the other crap they called or ignored.

Luckily it didnt cost us either game, but in a close game, it certainly could.

I am 100% convinced that when we have the ball, anything resembling a hold on the OL is immediately flagged. But that when we're on defense, the officials wait until it looks like the play will result in positive yards before they throw the flag. If even then.

If they didn't do it this way, our opponents could be called for holding 10-15 times per game. That is not an exaggeration.

No, I want it called the same for both sides. We had 4 or 5 called on us and yet I saw them doing all sorts of things to our guys, and not get a single call. And some of the stuff they did was far more blatant.

Its the INCONSISTENCY I cant stand.

Nice post David...

And I'm generally not one to complain about the officials much, other than having some fun with it. But seriously, that last TD they scored was almost solely due to the zebras. Why did Hamlin get an unsportsmanlike conduct to offset Maclin's just because he put his face in Maclin's facemask? That happens all the time and it's not a penalty. Total BS.

Anyway, not to focus on that after such a great win. Just awesome, and we couldn't do it to a better team. Some people seem to love Andy Reid, but I'll never forget him running it up on those awful Campo teams.

I have nothing to complain about after last night (related to the Cowboys). I am glad Wade is finding success (I truly wanted him gone last year and most of this year). I like the guy, he seems like a good person, but like most fans, I wanted results and didnt think Wade could deliver them. But I am glad to be wrong! This team looks focused and is playing lights out. I havent been this happy with the Cowboys in what feels like ages.

Like Dbair, I hate Philly with a passion. They are my most hated team in any sport. To bust our slump against those guys, in the fasion we did was satisfying beyond belief!

I see no reason why we cant take it all this year. I'm savoring this win, but like coach DeCamillis said "lets get greedy"!

How bout them Cowboys??!?!?!?!

The Eagles DID get away with a LOT of holds last night. In addition, there were two big plays I had a problem with. When Ogletree caught the inside screen and made it to the one or two yard line very early in the game and Witten was called for offensive pass interference. Really? On the replay it sure looked like he was throwing a very good block with no hold. I couldn't believe they called offensive pass interference on him and the ball wasn't even thrown to him. Not sure I've seen that before. Second, is it just me or did Macklin push off on Jenkins (blatantly I might add) on that long TD reception. He pushed off and even made Jenkins slip down. That's the way I saw it, though it hardly matters now. I did notice that when they kept showing the replays, they conveniently failed to show how Macklin got open, but I swear when the play acually took place, he pushed Jenkins to the ground. That's how he got so damn open. Oh well, we still killed them.

To comment more on the bolded part, I thought off-setting penalties resulted in replaying the down ? This time they allowed the play and basically gave Maclin a bye on his punch.

I also saw at least 3 holds/tackles the Feagles oline did against Ware that was not called, right in front of Hocoli...And many time Hocoli made a call against us that was the opposite of what another zebra called. Good thing there was other ref's in that game to keep Hocoli in line.

Nice post David. The loss of EJ Henderson has KILLED their defense. There will be some scoring in this one I do believe.

Come on wouldnt you rather have Brady Quinn wearing a baseball cap than Felix and his threat to take it to the house every time abilities? :laugh2: By the way Felix looked pretty healthy last night.
