No, I want it called the same for both sides. We had 4 or 5 called on us and yet I saw them doing all sorts of things to our guys, and not get a single call. And some of the stuff they did was far more blatant.

Its the INCONSISTENCY I cant stand.
The play where peters flat out TACKLED DWare by the legs after he was bull-rushed not only cost DWare a guaranteed sack (mcchunky never saw him coming) it prob would have been a turnover. We all know 94 is going to get the ball with a shot like that.

I was pissed

And Ref Defender shows up right on cue.

Most people aren't necessarily upset on the calls against us (although some are quite ticky tack). Most people are upset about the inconsistency with which calls are made. No holding on the Eagles all game? Seriously?

"Ref Defender"?

For asking what calls he is pissed about? Sorry I don't jump head-first into the Ref dog pile and accuse them at every turn.

Even with the penalty yardage being nearly equal, you're just pissed because the refs didn't call the penalties you wanted them to call?

Gotcha.

Excellent post.
I think Roy Williams had a very good game also. I think his early catches may have taken some presure and double teams off of Austin more than what the Eagles planned.

Also a shout out to Bobbie Carpenter's hustle. Recovering 2 fumbles and had a few QB pressures.

Sounds like a defender to me. It doesn't matter if the yardage were equal if inequality still exists.

Go watch a Pittsburgh game and see how they consistently get calls in their favor.

Thank goodness that our team is playing well enough to beat the opposition and bias refs.

It's not just this post, it appears to be your MO from what I gather across a multitude of threads.

You appear to go out of your way to vehemently defend the refs under the guise of trying to shy away from the "pack mentality."

I'm not sure what your rooting interest is, but your agenda is pretty obvious.

No kidding, it was VERY encouragig to see Roy reach up and grab some tough catches accross the middle. I hope he can continue to do this.

Did Roy drop any passes this game?

I would agree that the refs are far too inconsistent with holding calls. But I really don't feel that there is any anti-Cowboy bias. I've seen us get away with some "blocks" that I thought were holds. Basically, holding calls are like the NFL's version of NBA Personal Fouls. They are just so subjective, which means they can become a problem and really start changing the game.

For the most part, we are penalized heavily because we are still a fairly undisciplined football team. It's been this way the last few years. We make dumb, unnecessary mistakes, and penalties are just a part of that equation.

Good review as usual, dbair. Philly OL holding/tackling was blatant but not called.

I'd say shutting the Eagles out last week to clinch the division title and keeping them from winning the division and the bye - then coming out a week later and ripping them again in the playoffs to end their season is bigtime RETRIBUTION.

Truly was a beautiful thing to watch.

I agree on all points. That said, dbair's point (if it's true, I assume it is) that we didn't get a single holding call in two games with the kind of domination we had against that OL is a pretty good one. Not saying there was a bias, though--just that there were missed calls.

I make no more of an effort to defend the refs than the effort made to blame them by the "pack".

Nearly all penalties on Dallas are met with accusations of bias. If you'd believe what the "pack" would say, every official is a Cowboy's hater.

My stance for a while has been that officiating in general sucks. League-wide, it sucks. It's not just a Dallas thing, it's an NFL thing.

Here's a few posts.

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3088775&postcount=71

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3017878&postcount=8

So I get a little laugh when people are shocked or pissed off with a pretty damn evenly called game.

Yes, officiating sucks. League-wide it sucks but I don't believe for one minute that it's the conspiracy that it is made out to be on a weekly basis. I'm not saying it's made out to be one in this thread, I was just wondering what penalties people were pissed at.

I don't usually like to complain about officiating but there are 3 things that have pissed me off over the last few years:

1. ticky-tacky holding calls we get versus muggings on the other side of the ball that are ignored. Has there ever been as great a pass rusher as Demarcus Ware who draws almost no holding calls.

2. We don't get those defenseless receiver, roughing the QB or blow to the head penalties too much, in general.

3. All those false offsides calls Ware gets when he times the count perfect.

Fine, fair enough...

But, I still think this should be your official Ref Defender logo:

Reid just loves to run up the score. The bigger the win, the better. Up by 40 points in the 4th quarter, keep throwing the ball deep. It's frickin bush league college football stuff to try and run up the scores like that in the NFL. it serves no purpose other than to get other team's to hate your guts. I agree - I can never stand looking at that stoic fat **** out there.

That made me so mad. Holding is like a MLB strike zone. It is completely subjective. I don't care if the refs call every little hold or let them play the game just call it the same on both sides. The disparity the last two weeks reminds me of the extra large strike zone the Atlanta Braves used to get
when the ump forced the opposing pitcher to throw it over the plate. Just call the same things on BOTH sides.:bang2:

I saw Ware get tackled from behind when he was about to sack McNabb. Their LT did it when he got beat.

One guy had Ratliff hooked on an obvious hold. It was an automatic call, but some how, "they missed it".

I agree. It's a joke.

Wasn't it great to see Anthony Spencer destroy them after they let us trade back into the first round and draft him.

That was stupid and arrogant on their part.

Felix Jones!!!

Mike Jenkins!!!

Feed Felix the rock!!

Win it all!

The Giants do what Leonard Davis did last night on every play.
