Day of the Tag, what will we do?

They will use it on Pollard because if they don't and Pollard signs elsewhere Dallas is left with Zeke....let that sink in.
I’d use it on Pollard as it’s better than a long term deal. I’d release Zeke and draft a back.

Hopefully Franchise tag Pollard
Why would you want franchise tag Pollard, he is coming back from a broken leg. The same results we got from Gallup this past year, they signed him to a deal and has done nothing. IMO, big mistake if they franchise tag Pollard. They can get his replacement in the draft.

ACL(Gallup) in a knee isn't a broken bone in a leg, two different injuries......And Pollard is going to be franchised unless he signs a long term deal..

Pollard's recovery time is only around 3 months which means he will be ready around the end of April or beginning of May. Plus it is a different injury than Gallup. Gallup was not ready until 4 weeks into the season. Pollard should be ready for all of the offseason programs including training camp.

That being said, I would not give Pollard the Franchise tag. That ties up $10 million in cap space for a RB. I would just rather draft young guys and do it all over again when their rookie deal is up rather than pay big money to RBs. Use them for 4 years and then draft a new one. Churn and burn.

Dallas could place the transition tag on Pollard (still not a fan). The transition tag hit is $8.4 million and then we could let him shop himself around. If we like the deal he signs with another team then just match it and keep him. If not, we just let him walk and he goes toward comp pick compensation. The danger in that is if he signs the tender then we are on the hook for the $8.4 million. Still beats $10 million.

So a broken leg and blowing out your knee are the same severity of injury?

Pollard will be fine. Gallup wasn't ever fully healthy. It's pretty obvious now they rushed him back.

Today starts the window where we can tag a player. Who will it be, will we even use it?? Players such as Pollard, Wilson are my big names to end up with it. On the other hand, I think we shouldn't use it, and let these guys see their worth on the open market! Please give your thoughts
Pollard would have been the only likely candidate to be franchised. After his injury, i feel they will not place it on him and instead will either try to resign him or let him go and get awarded a draft pick. Schultz is a goner. No soup for you.

look at the playoff teams none had a high priced running back there gm's no that to many are over payed like zeke and pollard. the jones have destroyed this team and to recover we won't so keep up the idle chatter i'm keeping amused how many dopey coversations there are. 1st of all next season is gonna be like the last 27 seasons so why oh why even get excited by it the qb is a good qb but as far as going to the super bowl with him DREAM ON
