It's easier to get interceptions in zone coverage, something our corners are not great at. Since our players aren't adept at zone coverage they get eaten alive, especially without a pass rush.

In order to get turn overs in man coverage, the defensive line needs to get pressure on a quarterback, and the quarterback has to want to force the ball as a result. Even if the defensive line is getting pressure, but the QB is up 14 points already, that doesn't necessarily mean he is going to force the ball into tight coverage. This is what we saw against the Patriots, and even then we had some DBs not taking advantage of opportunities. The defensive line played well enough to win that game. This is why I say we need to reinvest in the secondary in next years draft.

Zone coverage needs pressure too to create turnovers, but it has the advantage of having defenders with their eyes facing the qb. The problem with zone coverage is that you can give up a lot of yards in a hurry.

Ideally what we would see here with the return of Randy Gregory is that the pass rush would get to the quarterback a lot quicker and help put opposing offenses in bad situations.

When your offense puts no pressure on the opposing team to keep up, they know they don't need to take any risks. They can wait and take their shots as they come. Take what the defense is giving them, and that is what Brady did, especially in the second half.

They readjusted and put an emphasis on stopping Hardy, which basically neutralized our defensive line. This is really where we would want Lawrence to step up.

With less pass rush in the second half, Brady was able to comfortably take his shots.

I'd like to say that with Randy Gregory out there too, you can't adjust as well. We will need Lawrence to really step up moving forward. Crawford as well.

Today was a great day of NFL football. Did you notice the games seem to have a DB pick 6 in several games. Guys you never heard of. That is something we just don't see enough of watching the Cowboys. It seem Lee is the only guy that can get this done. He doesn't get pick 6, but at least int. Are the DBs told not to be aggressive?

Been that way ever since Jimmy left....And Coach Jones has told the DBs to play off and let them make the catch.....Just be sure you make the tackle. A failed scheme that Jerry has embraced for 20+ years. How many more years of futility do fans have to suffer before he realizes he doesn't know a damn thing about football?
