TE is a shorter position. But we can roll with three. If so who goes Swaim or Rico assuming no injuries ?

I mean it's a no brainer if the hype surrounding Gathers is true.

I have to be honest though....I really don't see anything special in Swaim.

The biggest story to me is the fact the Broaddus was able to string 9 thoughts together......

He just reminds me of Peter Boyle in Young Frankenstein. I keep waiting for him to show up in a tux and top hat and yell "puttin on the ritz" in that garbled, guttural voice.

Well, they like him because he's versatile. He's an in line blocker who can run a decent route. And he's got some speed. He doesn't do anything in an OMG fashion but he's got good enough to backup doing it all. That's just my take.

Funny, but not nice.

Not nice.

Funny, but not nice.

To quote Steve Martin: "Comedy is not pretty!"

I have no personal animus toward Broaddus, he just reminds me of someone in an old movie.

Young Frankenstein was funny at the time it was made and since I'm a dinosaur, its still funny to me. Like most of Mel Brooks' comedic film work, it would not be well received today, but I have no problem with it.

Precision over physical dominance is the Cowboys #2 TE preference.

MartyB was physically dominant but make a lot of mistakes. John Phillips got a lot of playing despite being far inferior physically because he made far less mistakes and knew the scheme.

Swaim and Hanna made the team while some physically better blockers didn't. There have been a couple in training camp the past few year that were physically very good blockers but they often looked lost. They got cut. Andre Smith was one of them.

Are guys like that hard to find though? Seems like you find a guy like this on every roster........

I think so, too. Hopefully we can sneak Noah on the practice squad. I'm not as bullish on Jones anymore, but he'd certainly made at least another team's practice squad, as well.

Dez
Switzer
Beasley
Williams
Butler
Noah

To be honest I like that group. Noah isn't making the practice squad, a team like the Colts will sign him. Possibly Cleveland.......I think it comes down to Noah versus Butler the loser if you will goes against the players at RB and TE.

So looking at TE

Witten
Hanna
Swaim
Rico

RB

Zeke
McFadden
R. Smith
Morris
Thomas

FB

K. Smith

I think Rico is staying so all 4 TEs due mostly Hanna and Swaim injuries.

Zeke and McFadden no doubt Keith Smith as well. Now we must decide..........Rod Smith, Noah Brown (Butler) Thomas or Morris

Possibly only 1 spot there and I think you go Rod Smith who can play multiple spots. Unless butler and Noah make play after play will be hard to keep both but could be possible
