DC.COM Blog: Cowboys Sign Another OLB Prospect, Waive Guard

I wouldn't be so sure on being wrong.

I have a feeling he may yet end up on this team's practice squad.

Definitely a possibility since he needs to grow an NFL body. Bright is more NFL ready now from a strength standpoint.

Here is hoping this helps our team!

on a side note, he has pretty good speed and size, about 6-3 1/2 or so, 242 with 4.67 speed, not bad for a linebacker

That one report was wrong. Bright is very athletic, there is a video of his combine workout at nfl.com and the guy did great. Big time vj for an OL and was pretty agile and quick for big man.

Several reports had him that way, although I often think most draft mags/sites just feed off each other on what to say about a prospect.

His combine workout is a much better source of info. :)

Now is a good time to get a quick look at some of these available players without having to risk a roster spot.

Re Bright: I dont see how any report can say an Oline with a 38 inch vertical is not athletic. That is just nuts.

Alot of us were high on Johnson in last years draft. He was a sleeper OLB on alot of mocks.

Hos was especially high on this guy

he couldn't go more than a day without saying his name around last year's draft

i bet hostile was jumping up and down when he read the cowboys released a guard, until he read it was greg og from west virginia
Nope, I made a silent bet with myself that it was Isdaner.

Procter has been playing. Good clue to the entire forum that he has made the team.

I am stoked about Curtis Johnson though. Really stoked.

How old is Bright? Typical BYU player is pushing 30 when thy hit the NFL.

naw, it wasn't like SLATE and his manlove for Sean Smith, I liked Curtis Johnson alot

and like I said in another thread, I remember alot of stuff, most of it is stupid, and the other half is just random, like this, and things just trigger it, like this news

He's 26, and yeah those Missions are always going to set the guys with pro potential back.

I kind of hope we keep this guy, cuz him, Butler and Brandon Williams as the OLB reserves would be scary next year

The vj looks out of place.

Since Johnson was waived injured with a hamstring problem, it seems to me that we didn't necessarily pick him up to see him play Friday but to stash him on IR for next season.

Of course, we could have already seen enough in scouting him to want him on the roster, but I think that's unlikely since we don't know if he'll be ready for the regular season and can't afford to use another roster spot on a player who will be sidelined. Plus, he's making the move to LB and we don't know how that will go for him.

If he has PS eligibility, we could be picking him up to have his rights if he clears waivers, but since I don't think he would, I don't think Dallas doing that would be likely.

Maybe he's just not that injured, but enough for Indy to have to waive him injured?

Just curious but exactly who is that trio supposed to scare? I mean has any one of them done anything in the NFL?
