DC.COM Blog: Is Carpenter's Play Changing Perceptions?

I actually don't mind him being in on some of the 1st and 2nd down plays. Just let the kid play a little more, and see what happens.

Put Dat Nguyen's intelligence, hunger for success, and gameday demeanor in Carpenter's body and, barring major injury, ya got a guy destined for a bust enshrined in Canton.

'Barbie' indeed... what a waste.

Really. Carpenter as a Mike in the NFL. What'cha smokin, dude?

If he has a chance at any spot on the regular defense, which I'm not sure he does, it would have to be Brooking's spot. That player is supposed to be more free from taking on blockers to go attack the ball.

Of course, if he was out there, I'd expect offenses to scheme to attack him in the running game because blockers can get him skating backward.

And I say this as someone not down on Carp at all. It's easy to see his weaknesses and up to him to improve them if he ever hopes to be an every-down player here. I think he's gotten better to an extent, but still is too easily pushed around against the running game.

Right at the 6:00 minute mark tell me who that is tossing an OG like a ragdoll. Now, try and say the man cannot play physical football.

Thanks theebs for the recording.
