I really think that Michael Irvin had a little to do with Holley being on the PS. Mike's pride was at stake and him and Jerry probably had a talk, thus not making 4th and Long a complete "BUST".

I seriously doubt this was why Holley made the practice squad. The guy played well enough in the staff's opinion to warrant a roster spot.

I can't wait for the Jessie Holley nonsense to be over and done. Like the other seven, hate that one.

Why? Why do you have this preconceived bias against players that make the NFL via unconventional means? Practice squad spots aren't handed out to jobbers and ham n eggers. Holley eraned that spot because he can already play at that level. The staff feels that he is worth aditional development time. I think you are being unreasonable with this hate of Holley. You can't logically justify it now. You had it in your mind from the beginning that Holley was a waste of time, but clearly, you have been proven wrong. Nobody likes to be proven wrong.

Just going on record that this is the first time ever I've agreed with a post from RoadRunner (re: Holley having earned his spot on the PS) because I likely will never get the chance again.

I didn't give Holley a second thought for most of the preseason, but if he's on the squad, I'm going to assume it's because he actually showed something. I also became a bigger fan after watching his post-game interview in Minnesota.

Yea I agree I don't know what all of this talk about Holley just getting on the practice squad so Mike and Jerry can save face. Its not that serious. If the guy failed he failed. Big deal. Jerry and Mike don't take any hard hit to their reputation if the winner from the failed and didn't make the team. No one expected him to anyway. He played well enough to get on the practice squad. Good for him. And let's remember this is PRACTICE SQUAD. Does anyone even remember who was on practice squad last year? Do guys even realize how many practice squad guys even pan out? Is Romo like the only one on the roster who was practice squad who's made it on the 53 man roster? I'm sure there are others. I don't get the focus on Holley. Would you rather the spot go to Amendola or Todd Lowber?

I don't hate him. I don't know him. I just don't think he was any good at all.

Romo was never on the practice squad. Patrick Crayton was for a half his rookie season.

Two WRs are too much in this case. The Cowboys are already carrying three youngish developmental receivers on the active roster. IMO, they should be looking to add a young NT prospect, an OT or two and an ILB prospect.

The PS is hardly set in stone, you will see more changes as more cuts occur and needs change. I doubt the PS roster will be the same in MID SEASON as it is now. By season's end it could be completely different.

I was somewhat hopeful that the Fourth And Long winner would prove to be a player despite the long odds. I didn't see it, though, and don't believe he deserved to go on the practice squad.

Of course, he might not have if DeAngelo Smith hadn't been claimed.
