DC.COM: Colombo Healthy, Practicing And Planning To Start

Colombo is one of the nastiest RTs in the game. Try knowing a little football before posting. Try starting with something easy like the spelling of the guy's name.

It amazes me how underappreciated Colombo is? Maybe it's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately mentality or out of sight, out of mind.

I'm glad that Free has played as well as he has because 1) we didn't know if we had any capable backups, 2) it presents a nice future at tackle and 3) we needed it to make the playoffs. But anyone who thinks playing Colombo is a step back hasn't been paying attention to his play.

Admittedly, there might be some rust, but I don't think Colombo is the type of player to not go into a game ready to play. Plus, I don't think what he's best at is greatly affected by rust.

Seriously wonder why you keep getting passed over to coach in the NFL. You have it all.

Its just not your time yet. :starspin

ah at last, an opinion more important and substantially based then mine. The mind of a coach I someday wish to be...............

Wade has done a good job with the D this year no doubt but these are the kind of silly Wade moves that may end up costing him his job.

What we have now is working why mess with a good thing in the playoffs?!

Yeah, he's one of the nastiest RT's in the game WHEN HEALTHY. That's great he's working hard with rehabbing and all but you never know how one is going to perform until they get in live game action. This is a risk and I think the team should stick with Free right now.

Oh great. Let's see if Colombo can play and then put Free back when it's too late..

This has epic fail written all over it.

I'm not feeling good about this move at all.

Someone else mentioned Terry Glenn. That is a scary parallel.

Here's the problem I have with this.

We know what we'll get with Free..solid play

We have no idea where Colombo's conditioning or ability to move quick is at.

The dude has been out of football and probably out of conditiong for about a month now.

i think its a good idea, our run game will be better for sure.

Hopefully it isn't Terry Glenn II.

Glenn's return didn't hurt us. Terrell Owens' injury and Patrick Crayton's suddenly bad hands did.

So the coaches, training staff, strength and conditioning coach get no credit for knowing whether or not a player is in condition to handle a return?

I guess they just look at him and say, ah, it's worth a try.
