Good luck with that then.
Every coach in the league switches to a 'win is secondary' approach to the preseason.
Of course they do, the games don't COUNT then... and the players are more focused on making plays so that they can make the team than they are winning the game...
You're comparing apples to oranges... but I think you know that...
Learning and getting better are huge.
And you do that in the preseason... unless, of course, you like losing fans...
Your sentiment is all about the instant gratification. Typical of a baby boomer.
Y'know, fuzz-meister, I just love how you think you know me, to the point that you presume that you know what I'm thinking...
You see, my sentiment is all about establishing a win at all costs attitude... which is typical of a COMPETITOR... but that's not unusual, I spent a good part of my youth, and my young adulthood, competing...
If you're not a competitor, I don't want you on my team... winning isn't just something that happens, not regularly, unless you're completely dedicated to winning... telling your boys it's OK to go out and lose a game is completely destructive to that goal...
I guess you think players can just turn their competitive juices on and off at will... I know better...
Bottom line, you look foolish when you try to speak about what I think... I can tell you after many, many arguments with you that you don't have the first flippin' clue what I'm thinking...
And for sure, I've never had a clue where you're coming from... I think you're what the old folks call a "queer duck", or what a lot of people today call a contrarian... but I surely don't know what makes folks like you tick (no, you're not a unique phenomenon, much as you might like to think you are)...
