Wow, I didn't realize that Herschel Walker was drafted in the 5th round. It's been a long time and I never payed any attention to the draft back in those days.

Hey never will anybody get the value we did in the 10th round. Rodger the Dodger was a steal. Go Cowboys.

That's the biggest steal by far.

I realize Tony was good value as a priority UDFA, but that still would have been the 8th round if the draft was longer.

Yeah, Rodger was the best value pick of all time.

None. The Walker trade was the catalyst that built the Super Bowl roster to begin with.

Maybe not as dominant of a team but Walker was a monster, It doesn't sound right if you say "Jimmy couldn't win one SB with HW as his RB."

While Romo wasn't a draft pick, he should be #1 on this list IMO.

To go undrafted and then put together the career he has had is nothing short of phenomenal.

Gotta pull a Kurt Warner and get that ring, then he'll get all the respect he deserves.

Wouldn't trade "the trade" for nothin but I'd like to have seen him in some games with Aikman and Irvin in their prime.

I would have loved to seen him when he left school come straight here. I'm convinced it cost him the HOF. He, Jim Brown and Bo Jackson are the most impressive and fastest big backs ever IMO. Would have been hard to have him and Dorsett on the same club even sooner but what a problem to have.

I perhaps should have listed Marion Motley above but he just wasn't as fast as the others but boy was he a lot faster than many he played against. Go back and look at film of this incredibly large but fast and agile player. I'm so glad he finally got his due. Just an incredible player who deserved the HOF both on defense and offense.

He doesn't come up in the "great backs" conversation like he should. Power with certified olympic speed and durability.

What makes him even more remarkable is he did all that with what many would call a multiple personality disorder although that's not the name anymore. I admire this man greatly. I remember his first game as a Cowboy. I'm pretty sure the announcer said 'and there he goes'. He turned the corner and took off. Don't remember if it was a TD or not.

I remember hearing the stories about his workouts. I forget the exact numbers but 1000 sit ups and push ups per day.(mighta posted this dr) The year he was traded he played GB his last game for Dallas had 44 rushing yds and 45 receiving yards his first game in Minni was against GB the next week and he ran for 148 and caught for 1-7. One of only 2-3 people in history to play the same team back to back weeks for different teams.
