I don't know. If Tony doesn't underthrow TO on that deep route, or if Crayton hauls in a couple of key passes, or if the defense stops Eli before halftime, no one would be *****ing about the o-line. This was a team-wide failing.

Well said!!!!

I don't think so much that these guys don't care about winning or that they don't work hard. The issue is that these guys are too docile. How many times have we seen this team just get bullied in the past 3 years or so? This has been a recurring theme against teams in our division. When it matters we can't beat the Eagles, Giants or even the Commanders. This team just doesn't have a killer instinct or enough dirty work players.
Like when? We won the friggin' division last year for the first time in forever. Other than possibly the O-line late in the playoff game, when did we get bullied?

And I guess I sound like a broken record, but why do people go years back to make these declarations about a team that effectively began when Romo took over just a season and a half ago? Three years ago, Drew Bledsoe was locking on to Terry Glenn and taking five sacks a game... Not to mention doing it under a totally different coaching staff. So how is three years ago relevant?

Evidence?

Do your own research if you must have evidence of everything... If your trying to pick a fight, go elsewhere... This makes you look like your 10 years old.

I don't try to pick fights... I'm not one who likes to argue for the sake of arguing. I just asked for a little evidence to back up your assertion, because I'd like to see it.

Don't bother with that one.

Lots of talk, very little substance.

This is basically what I've been saying all year long. November, December and January these guys have been on cruise control, coasting and resting on their laurels when they should be working harder and with more determination than ever; true champions do that and that's why they win instead of losing like so many of these lazy, self-indulgent slobs. They need to buckle down and work harder than ever in the leadup to the post-season, and not think that all they have to do is show up and the other team will roll over for them. That's when you get your *** kicked.

I agree. I sure hope the addition of Zack Thomas will help provide some of the needed leadership, heart, and toughness this team needs. Come on Zack, give them a no nonsense mean and tough Texas attitude.

Nate says what these guys have to do sir, make sure they are in shape at last half of season, this team wasn?t mentally and physically at end of year, they went into season with arrogant attitude not a work attitude. You have to realize that the last 4 games of the season Is it more important in first 8 games, which has to be determined.
The ironic thing about that - does anyone remember watching the telecast of the Vikings-Cowboys playoff game in 1996? (Ironically, our last playoff win)

The Cowboys played badly that December, and Madden said during the game that he spoke with Nate Newton. Nate told him the o-line was bored at the end of the season, and doesn't turn it on until the playoffs.

I can't believe I remember this stuff, clearly I need more important things to occupy my brain.

In the three divisional games at the end of the season, the Giants win and the Commanders and Eagles loss.

I do agree with the poster, the team needs to get more physical with division opponents, especially late in the season.

Strahan said the Cowboys were the most physical team they faced all year. Playing the 'boys helped them against the Pats.

I believe it's more mental than physical. And like bbgun said somewhere, an on-target throw to T.O., a catch by Crayton and all this is moot.

Eh... I still can't believe people hold that Skins game against us when we weren't even trying to really win it...

And I don't think the Eagles bullied us. Romo just had a horrible day by his standards, probably because of the thumb.

Yeah, and he also admitted that they played so bad in the Steeler Superbowl because they partied so hard during that week in Arizona. Doesn't exactly sound like an iron-clad dedication to fitness, conditioning, and mental focus to me.

I call a big giant scoop of BS.

We got beaten along the OL by the Giants but they turned around and did the same thing to the Pats who certainly know how to play hard and what it takes to win.

This is a developing team that did not have the boatload of picks nor the cap-less era to build in.

It is progressing and it did lose last year but to the eventual Super Bowl champs whom we had beaten twice earlier.

The Colts were held back by the Pats but they did get their SB.

It's not like other teams do not work and are scared to win. This team will have to work if it wants to win but last year's team didn't just nap their way to 13-3.

We have a lot of young talent that is maturing. They are feeling the bitter taste of defeat from the last two seasons, and are developing a chip on their shoulders. This will motivate them.

We have a handful of vets that are feeling the sense of urgency. They will take the leadership necessary to motivate those around them.

The pot is boiling over. That wasn't the case the last few years, however last year it was at a rapid boil.

We're about to blow the lid off this sucker!!!!!! :laugh2:

Well let's speak in terms of the Tony Romo era. We lost at Fed Ex to a much inferior Commanders in 2006. The Eagles came into Texas Stadium with the DIVISION on the line on Christmas day and totally worked the Boys. This last year we let the Eagles come into Texas Stadium and leave with a win after only scoring 10 points. Call me crazy, but if you're held to 6 points you got bullied. Let's not even get into the Commanders loss in the season finale or the Giants' loss in the playoffs. No need to sugar coat it, this team still doesn't bring it in divisional games with Tony Romo.

Christ, don't blame Romo for that meltdown. TO dropped a perfectly thrown bomb that would have (likely) put the game away. And when the chips were down, Tony threaded the needle to Witten to put them in a position to win the game. Everything else was out of his hands.

I didn't blame him, I'm blaming the team. They had chance after chance to win that game.

Maybe you should read the post I responded to and my post in context. If that doesn't help you understand, I don't know what to tell you.

If you mean to address/criticize the team in its entirety, then it's best not to invoke the "Tony Romo era." Other players besides Tony were on the field during those playoff losses.
