I don't agree its bandaid surgery but it is not guaranteed. There are other procedures along with penetrating subchondral bone. No one is even thinking replacement right now and not likely for some time.

Of course not talking replacement right now...thus the band-aid analogy. Replacement is the next progression when micro fails...so says my neighbor at least: a ortho surgeon with HEAVY ties to at least 3 SEC teams. An example (for what it's worth) is a nameless (for obvious reasons) player who's micro (performed by my neighbor) failed two years post...now he is a 25 year old sporting a new joint. Granted, one example...but my point is that micro is a last ditch effort for an athlete. Failures FAR outweigh any successes. The procedures you're suggesting work for the rest of us...not professional athletes. The repair can't hold with the kind of abuse it will see in football. I'll still hold to my original stance on a contract for Spencer - none.

Spencer owes us a year. He should play for free.

I like Ware but even though he showed a lot courage playing through injury I felt like he was over paid this year too. The two guys Seattle picked up Bennett and Avril had 8 and 8.5 sacks this year to his 6 and they were a lot cheaper.

Jones' optimism keeps it together. He is probably sitting there saying if Romo was healthy, the team would be playing deep into the playoffs.

That quality in his personality is what is killing this team and will make it near impossible to ever rebuild, even when it becomes evident we should.

The bad contracts that have negative consequences to release plus his unbridled optimism make for a deadly combination.

He is incapable of taking a detached emotionless hard look at the roster and deciding when it is time to move along from players he thinks have produced.

If we are even thinking about trying to bring Spencer back, it screams how insane he is. The fact mouthpiece Spagnola is writing about it tells me it is being considered. That is depressing.

This and the fact this his age has something to do with his decision making. JJ want to prove all the naysayers were wrong about him as a gm but he's running out of time so that affects his decision making (ala rebuilding).
