TO is too old, so even if he's great this year it wouldn't be that great for us long term. Same goes with our offense, we have TO, Glenn and Flo all over 30. No guarantee those guys stay good. That rules out 5 anf 6. Julius Jones only puts up those numbers if Barber is out, so I'd rule out #3. I wouldn't want our offense to drop so much, so I'd rule out #4. That would leave me with #1 and #2, and I'd pick a great QB season over a great season out of Ware, simply because a good QB is more important. I would love people to stop sucking up to Merriman and start giving Ware more credit though...

I think the defense drives this team and I would take #4 over an individual accomplishment even though Ware is my favorite player.

#4, without hesitation.

All of the above but I hesitate on #6 but if it helps us win and he keeps his mouth shut I might be to keep from :puke:

#3, if Jones could produce like that it would make the job of the QB much easier as teams would have to respect our run and not just come after the QB

Have to agree with Doomsday on this. Choosing #3 with Julius running for 1700 and 14 TDs means that Romo probably would get 3500 passing and 20+ TDs because the opposing defense would always be off balance.

It also would help the defense since we would be grounding things out also keeping the opposing D on the field and our D off the field making them fresher and more apt to make the big plays.

1.) I think this is doable for Ware.
2.) I think if Romo accomplishes this it will because of TO and a TO focused offense. He will still throw more than 7 INT's though. Its in his Brett Favre-likeness.
3.) Julius will be like last year. Maybe a little better... but not enough to resign him. We may go after Run DMC.
4.) I see the defense being a force. I dont see the offense not doing well though.
5.) I see the offense being unstoppable because #2 above. I dont see the defense not playing well.
6.) See #2 and $5. Although I see probably 120 catches with those 18 TD's

It seems like kind of a trick question... Or one of those LSAT questions where the answer is "not enough information to answer".

Only in #3 and #4 do we know what both sides of the ball are doing. For instance, why couldn't #2 come true and the defense be great as well? :)

Or #1 be true and the defense and offense both finish #1 in the league? :)

You get what I'm saying.

I guess knowing both sides of the ball, I'd say #4. I love defense. I want a great defense here, and I really don't care much about what the offense does. I definitely don't care what individual players do, especially on offense. Like DallasEast said, #4 can win you a Super Bowl. Maybe in the #4 scenario, we started out horribly on offense but gradually gained momentum and entered the playoffs as a top-5 offense. ;)

#3, if Jones runs for 1,700 yards Dallas will win 12+ games

I'm with you. I think with Jones rushing for 1700 yards it will help the defense immensely, and make scenarios #1, #2 and #6 more likely. It may also make the 2008 draft easier for the Cowboys as they wont have to trade up and take McFadden as a "need" pick.

Julius Jones. I know that is so blah but whatever; I just want to win.

Time of posession is really important, and something that we missed by not being able to run the ball. I want to control the clock with the ball on the ground.

If JJ has 1700 yards and barber has 400+ I would be estatic; If we were running the ball that much I guess we would have the lead since we were draining the clock. ( though Tiki had 2,000 yards from scrimmage on that terrible Giants team Eli's rookie year)

Besides that I would say Romo having a breakout year would be a close second

I'll go with #2 for basically the same reasons. It was tough call though. Julies getting a lot of yards would be good for the team and Ware with 20 sacks would help a lot. When it comes down to it I guess I'd just rather see our QB taking over games more than the other positions.

I'll take #2 with #4 a close second.

It doesn't matter if you have a great defense if your QB can't be trusted.

Chicago. Baltimore. Tampa Bay. Yes they've contended while #4 is strong, but they leave their fans white-knuckled in the big games wondering if the offense will score enough to win. You still have to be ahead on the scoreboard at the final gun, or it's all academic.

If we fix the QB situation the defense also won't have to spend as much time on the field in a lot of cases.

The answer to the question is no doubt #2.

This is a QB driven league. It is a passing league.
Yes you must also run the ball well and demonstrate a balanced offense.
However, you only do this to keep your QB in one piece and enhance the effeciency of the passing game.
You cant win in todays game running the ball.
You must pass and pass well to put points on the board.

For all those who who believe D is the key and use T.B/Bal as examples are forgetting a few things:
1) There have been 29 other SuperBowl winners. T.B./Bal are more the exception than the rule.
2) Both Dilfer and Johnson made the probowl in the years there teams won the Superbowl. Neither had a distinguished career, however both had career years when their teams made the run.
