Yes, depth is a major issue now, where Ball would be our swing Tackle now.
That’s why I preferred keeping Peters as backup. I get that meant the Jumbo package with McGovern at FB wouldn’t be available, but a 40 year old body is more prone to injury than a 30 year old.

That said, I haven’t heard Peters is out or even questionable. He was to be held iut of practice today. He may end up being the swing tackle or emergency behind Collins, just not start.

Tyron Smith hasn't looked like his old phenomenal self since his return, and my last memory of him against San Francisco was him getting worked over by the likes of Charles Omenihu. I think Bosa will give him fits on Sunday. Hope he's ready for it.

Nick Bosa likely to get NFL Defensive Player of the Year with an 18.5 sacks this 2022 year.

As much as i've crticized Tyron Smith's durability i am sure glad to have him matching up vs Bosa in this upcoming Niners playoff game.
I'll admit that i thought that Tyron would never return again at all this year with that torn hamstring this summer.

Dunno if Tyron is at the top of his game now, but i'll feel better to take my chances with him vs Bosa.

My concern is, with backup reserve Peters out with a hip injury, ..what if Tyron himself gets dinged up and out ?

Would it be backup Josh Ball vs Nick Bosa if that (Tyron injured) happens ? ... Yikes !! ... o_O
Bosa really is their only pass rusher that I can see. Their next best has 5.

I don't see Tyron getting whooped by him
..may get beat a time or two but not whooped.

I think Aviante Collins is next off the bench now.
i need to look up backup reserve Aviante Collins to see where his place is on the active roster ..or is he on still on the practice squad ? .

It's hard to imagine the Cowboys would still place themselves where we'd be stuck with having depends upon Yikes- disaster Josh Ball.
  • Game 17:
    • Ball played on offense for a few snaps at the end of the game and 5 snaps on ST.
    • A. Collins was inactive.
    • OT Alex Taylor was active with 1 ST snap and zero snaps on offense.
  • Wildcard Playoff Game:
    • Ball and Collins active but neither played on offense.
    • Both played 5 snaps on ST.
  • Number of games active in 2022:
    • J. Ball: 14 (has not been inactive since week 6)
    • A. Collins: 3
    • A. Taylor: 1

All reports are saying he will be out for a couple of weeks, we just got to hope Tyron/Tyler hold up.

There is little they can do about it now, probably wasn't a good idea to start him and should of been our swing tackle. Got to hope our Tackles stay healthy or we are looking at Martin shifting.

That may be. But the only report I’ve seen is on the Cowboys website from late today. That says they haven’t made a determination for this week’s game yet and won’t until later in the week or possibly up to game time. They may be being coy, though.

I thought he was awful vs Washington and much better vs TB. I do think Bosa will give him fits. lets pray Josh ball never sees the field.

I believe the Boys will follow the same game plan as the Tampa game and that is to put a BIG BOY in the back field to help with the blocking assignments. Bosa isn't going to like getting chipped by a 300 plus lineman while at the same time taking on Smith.

We got to go with what we have and hope our starters stay injury free.

The other DE is who killed us last year. I had never heard of him until seeing him on Dak's back all game. Ominihu #94. Bosa was kept in check for the most part.

He’s arguably the best DE in football and their best player.

He can have a win or 2, but you simply can’t let him wrecker the game. He should be chipped with a RB or TE early and often.
The thing about Bosa, that I need to see from Micah is how he handles chips. I’ve seen Bosa start his Rush, stop and let the chip go by then go into his bulrush. As opposed to going all out getting decked and then having to regather. While the chip slows him a little bit it’s still not as effective. I want to start seeing little nuances like that from Micah.
