DE Nick Bosa vs Tyron Smith

Just run the ball, if we run the ball semi effectively this all goes away, run heavy with Pollard and even Davis, keep the defense occupied and the offense on the bench.

The other DE is who killed us last year. I had never heard of him until seeing him on Dak's back all game. Ominihu #94. Bosa was kept in check for the most part.
Matter of fact, I thought Bosa got knocked out of the game by the second quarter. That just shows how their front is. Handling Bosa is important, but also handling Armstead in the interior is just as important. We can help all day on Bosa only to have the game get wrecked on the inside by Armstead eating up his 1 on 1

Yep that's right. He was injured before halftime. They still finished with 5 sacks and 14 QB hits. Felt like it was worst than that tbh.

Nick Bosa likely to get NFL Defensive Player of the Year with an 18.5 sacks this 2022 year.

As much as i've crticized Tyron Smith's durability i am sure glad to have him matching up vs Bosa in this upcoming Niners playoff game.
I'll admit that i thought that Tyron would never return again at all this year with that torn hamstring this summer.

Dunno if Tyron is at the top of his game now, but i'll feel better to take my chances with him vs Bosa.

My concern is, with backup reserve Peters out with a hip injury, ..what if Tyron himself gets dinged up and out ?

Would it be backup Josh Ball vs Nick Bosa if that (Tyron injured) happens ? ... Yikes !! ... o_O
If Tyron gets injured, Dallas would be be forced to keep an extra TE on that side to help Ball or Bosa will destroy our offense.

Good point, i just looked him up.

4.5 sacks but 16 qb hits which would be 2nd on our team.

Something in my gut tells me Tyron hit his stride Monday night and finally got the hang of the whole right tackle thing. He absolutely neutered whoever the Bucs sent to his side. And the young buck more than held his own on the other side. Bosa and Ominihu will have THEIR hands full as much as our guys will. The biggest question for me is how we handle Armstead on the inside. Armstead is good and can move around but he is NOT a 350 mass of humanity who can just wreck your inside run game. You can get bodies on him and move him out of the way. Inside running lanes means nice long sustained chain moving defensive energy sapping drives that end up with our guys dancing on painted logos. It's going to be a fascinating matchup to watch though..

He’s got a groin injury…every chance Dallas gets attack that groin…Tyler needs to apply all his weight to him. Punish him…be mean, be nasty, trash talk him all day…leave the 49ers bloody…win or lose.

Bosa went out of the game with a concussion in the first quarter.

A healthy Tyron Smith may be able to give Nick Bosa all he can handle.

Of course, if Tyron is injured, it might well be a different story.

OTOH, if the rookie, Tyson, gets him, we'll soon see.

Yeah I forgot that detail. That's a bit scary considering #94 was still running free in the backfield all game.

The entire OL got worked in that game last year. The Cowboys lost the LOS on both sides of the ball convincingly. If they want to have a chance to win on Sunday, that pattern cannot be repeated.

Correction -- in my previous post, I meant to mention the name in my last line as Tyler instead of Tyson. Oops, sorry. :omg:

As usual i want to get to the point where we are running the ball effortfully ...and effectively..

Cannot abandon it .. just because we get no gain or just one yard. ..Have to stay patient with it, and need
quality blocking by OL and TE ......and play call- designs from coaches.

We got to go with what we have and hope our starters stay injury free.
Ye, sir, especially the tackles. An injury to either Smith would force a change to the offense because they would have to have an RB and/or TE dedicated to helping the replacement tackle.

A groin would be a terrible injury to have as a DE. I imagine it would really limit your ability to bend around the corner even if it is a minor injury.

I'm not too worried about our tackles. I'm afraid our interior is going to get blasted. I don't think the Center and LG spots will outclass their DTs.

i don't want to put our OL in so many must pass, deep drop situations.

Super glad to see Gallup finally having a strong contributing game.. i dunno about CB Ward ..but their other CB can be had.

While their pass rush is game breaking, their pass defense is suspect. I'm expecting an offensive balance similar to what we saw in Tampa.

This could be the time to air it out, especially if Dak is feeling it.

If the Cowboys have to get into a track meet with them, I have more faith in Dak + our pass rush to win the game than Purdy + their pass rush. We will see though.

Yall claim he's a hall of famer. How about he show it for once in a big game vs another elite player. Trent Williams always does

I think Bosa normally lines up over the LT, so young Tyler will be the matchup.
I feel a whole lot better knowing it's Tyler Smith lined with Bosa than Tyron. Tyron would get called for holding on every other play.
