Man, I hope alot of you arent getting your hopes up too high. SD defense did get beat at times last year, they weren't invincible

True, they weren't invincible. No defense is, but their 10th rated defense did help them to a 14-2 regular season record. That should count for something.

Last offseason, they were the beginnings of Doomsday III.

After preseason, they were all world.

After the Indy game, they'd arrived...Miami bound, yo!

After the NO game, they were exposed.

After the Detroit game, they were humiliated.

After the Seattle game, they all should've been cut or traded.

Hmmm...I'm still waiting on some proof that they can be deadly, venomous, lethal, and swarming...

Sure their D had something to do with the 14-2 record but personally I think LT has more to do with that record. Their offense keeps the ball and forces other team to play catch up often which is prefect for Wades Defense (we can use that D last yr). However, don't forget NE did march down the field and won the game when it counted (ok, there was a GREAT play by Troy Brown too).

Can't argue against that point.

Let also not forget that, if not for a crucial first quarter Chargers fumble which the Patriots convert into three points immediately afterwards, New England's game winning drive could've easily been a game-tying one instead--but I also agree with your point here also.

Ok, I was never a big BP fan here, just hard to accept the ole Giant coach here...and he was a shell of his old self. Having said that his defense was very Landry like, the flex was a read and react defense.

When I think of Dallas and defense, I think of Doomsday in its prime, not the 90's defense, sorry.

Times change and so does the NFL, Doomsday was meant to stop the run in the run oriented days of the 60's and 70's. BP took a cue from Tom, I can admire that being the 60', 70's guy that I am (even in my music).

Wade knows how to stop the offense of the new century. I'm so pumped to see it. Without a doubt Tom has been and always will be my favorite coach, but I finally (after 20 years) see our next dynasty, built on defense again. This time based upon a different NFL.

We have evloved. Superbowl this year.

Last year we had some cool adjectives as well.....

but in the end only one really worked......

overrated

As for this year, I'm not sipping any kool aid. I'll wait until they prove it on the field.

The beginning of the end can be traced to two events. Ellis getting hurt and the NO game.

I'm just hoping our D improves enough next year to be compared to a chihuahua biting someone's ankles.

Maybe even a poodle with a bad hairdo.

Ellis must have been the best outside linebacker in the 3-4 since LT the way our beast of a defense feel apart without him.
