True, they weren't invincible. No defense is, but their 10th rated defense did help them to a 14-2 regular season record. That should count for something.dogunwo;1488537 said:Man, I hope alot of you arent getting your hopes up too high. SD defense did get beat at times last year, they weren't invincible

WG has gone Beatrix Kiddo on this thread!WoodysGirl;1488544 said:Last offseason, they were the beginnings of Doomsday III.
After preseason, they were all world.
After the Indy game, they'd arrived...Miami bound, yo!
After the NO game, they were exposed.
After the Detroit game, they were humiliated.
After the Seattle game, they all should've been cut or traded.
Hmmm...I'm still waiting on some proof that they can be deadly, venomous, lethal, and smarming...
Can't argue against that point.btcutter;1488545 said:Sure their D had something to do with the 14-2 record but personally I think LT has more to do with that record.
Let also not forget that, if not for a crucial first quarter Chargers fumble which the Patriots convert into three points immediately afterwards, New England's game winning drive could've easily been a game-tying one instead--but I also agree with your point here also.btcutter;1488545 said:Their offense keeps the ball and forces other team to play catch up often which is prefect for Wades Defense (we can use that D last yr). However, don't forget NE did march down the field and won the game when it counted (ok, there was a GREAT play by Troy Brown too).

The beginning of the end can be traced to two events. Ellis getting hurt and the NO game.WoodysGirl;1488544 said:Last offseason, they were the beginnings of Doomsday III.

Ellis must have been the best outside linebacker in the 3-4 since LT the way our beast of a defense feel apart without him.big dog cowboy;1488613 said:The beginning of the end can be traced to two events. Ellis getting hurt and the NO game.
