Since this is all about my favorite cowboy I just wanted to let everyone know that Witten is on the cover of the jcpenny's big and tall catalog. When I saw the catalog on the table I had to do a double take cuz I wasn't expecting him to be on the cover. All it has is his autograph and it says all pro tight end I believe. He's all decked out in jcpenny's clothes of course and he's looking really handsome. Just an fyi if anyone cares.

Aahhhh! Now the thread is complete. I can rest better now. LOL. Just as interesting as the fact he doesn't juke people well. To the OP, I mean he's just on a pace to be one of the best TEs to ever play the game.

You are not Deion Sanders, or Barry Sanders for that matter. You do not and can not juke or fake out opposing tacklers. You are a North/South guy after the catch. There is no question you are the best tight end in the league. You block, catch, and run better routes than any tightend in the league.

However lately you seem to think that you have the ankle breaking ability of felix jones. You do not. Just catch the ball, turn up field, and run as hard as you can. When approaching a would be tackler lower your shoulder and run him over. You are not going to fake anyone out so just try and run them over.

Regards
You should have criticized his more-than-usual dropped passes he's had this year

Dear Cowboy Bebop,

I hope Balloon Boy's dad makes another weather balloon and you find your way into it. Then I hope it floats out into space.

Witten is one of my favorite players on the team for many reasons. He's tough, he's got great hands, he runs great routes, and he's a very good blocker. I also happen to think he's the best TE in the league. However, I agree 100% with the OP. I've noticed, especially this year, that Witten hasn't been simply catching the ball and turning it up field. He has been dancing around too much and as a result he seems to go down on first contact. He's far too good and too big to be doing this. He needs to simply turn up field and run over a defender or two.

Exactly. Thank you, and to the others who posted without imagining things I never posted.

I fully understand people disagreeing. It is the internet and when you can say something without consequences that is what people seem to do. But I dont get people making up things that I never posted.

I never said he was "slow"
I never said he "dropped passes"
I never said he wasn't an "all pro"
I never said he "doesn't get open"
And where did I ever imply that Witten should not be a cowboy or should be traded??

In fact I think I might have said something like "There is no question you are the best tight end in the league. You block, catch, and run better routes than any tightend in the league."

I think that is complimenting his skill set...but I am not sure. I am sure however one of you who act like someone killed your dog any time someone says something bad about the cowboys will tell me how it is insulting him.

I did say was he was trying to juke too much in my opinion. He is a big guy, and yes he is agile for his size, but he does not seem to be fooling anyone with his sluggish attempts at trickery. Specificly from the Philly game.

Yes it is true he is a pro bowler, and I (LIKE ALL OF YOU) am just a simple cowboys fan. However that does not mean that he would not be better served running north and lowering his shoulder.

I guess maybe it was the fictional open letter to Witten that confused all of you. That was a joke. Thesis: I think Jason Witten, although the best TE in the league, should run North and not East-West after the catch.

Although maybe I am wrong, maybe we should run some more reverses to Witten to capitilize on his shifty footwork.

We get it. Jason Witten isn't perfect.

I am sure he will read his and next game if he's not perfect the Cowboys will cut him.

I think what the OP is trying to say is that Witten be the one that we base the Wildcat around.

If he needs to work on anything, it's his pre-snap penalties.

Exactly! We should get rid of romo and only run that gimic....err I mean really clever wildcat that is so popular in the league. Except for in Denver where they run "the wild horses".

Suzy Kolber called the Eagles wildcat the "Spread eagle" on national television.

Oh, and about Witten... long as he keeps moving the chains he can juke all he wants.

Prepare to get blasted.

Dumb thread.

Not a dumb thread! That is my only pet-peeve about Witten. He goes down too easy. Defenders go low on his legs and he falls like a sack of potatos.

I agree, he needs to lower his shoulder and maul the guy in front of him. Heath Miller of the Steelers is really not any more athletic than Witten, and yet he still drags defenders for at least 3 to 5 more yards after the catch.

Jason is definitely one of my favorite of all time Cowboys, but he needs to work on the YAC a bit more.
