Carr has to go. He has a 12m cap hit for 2015 and an 8m salary

Even if takes a pay cut to 4m his cap hit will be 8.7m

Make him a June 1st cut. That leaves a 4.7m hit in 2015(saves 8m) and a 7.4m hit for 2016.

His level of pay is not worth the salary or cap hit

He's a player, like Free was, who you offer a 50% discount to and let him decide if he wants to stay or to test the market. If he goes, though, you've created a hole you have to address in the draft someplace.

I think there's a number that works for everybody here, though.

I hear ya. But the if I see him chasing another WR down the field again for us I will come hunt you down. :)

I think Carr has actually played better this season than most would be willing to admit, but clearly his current contract is an albatross.

He's a whipping boy because of his contract. If he were playing for peanuts, like Sterling Moore, for example, he'd probably be a fan favorite. Split the difference, and nobody's going to care, either way.

I think part of it is that people don't really watch what other teams throw out there. Carr is closer to what most teams throw out there than he is Dwayne Goodrich or Jacque Reeves. Plus factor in his contract. You can't make a argument to keep him for his salary. If he's willing to take a paycut then i'm for bringing him back.
