YOu are good at stating the obvious. Doesnt change the fact that our secondary is one of the worst in the NFL.

Huge leads would also help. But again, it doesnt change the fact.

Worst BECAUSE of Richards and Marinelli a non factor on the DL.

LOL at the Jones was average at best stuff.

you guys slay me.
Yeah, there is no need to talk smack about Jones now that he is gone. He was a very good CB, but he was not good with interceptions. That is about as good of a description as I can give for him.

Dez fell to 24 for NCAA violations because of stupid Deion. It was a miracle we got him, just like Lamb today.
and I'm pretty sure scouts would grade Lamb>Dez if both came out same year.

We lost to and were EMBARRASSED by theJets, NE, and Bills because of Def. Adding a WR that will take three seasons to develop will do nothing for this team to move forward.

Do you think a WR would have made a difference against LA in the playoffs in 2018?

Grade D so far.

D?

Adams the safety... trade your first

best safety this team has had since woody hung up the cleats
Problem with that is Jets wants more than just the first round pick. They want multiple high round picks plus players, sorry but Adams is not worth all that. A 1st round pick is as high as Dallas should have went and that played it correctly.

You can still pick up Delpit or McKinney in the 2nd round and to be honest, I much rather go with Lamb and a Delpit than get Adams and no high pick this year plus lose some players.

What stud corner/safety Did you see available? Their will be corners and Safties available at 51 today that are just as good as the one that were available last night at 17
Such a true statement, in fact 3 players.......Fulton, McKinney and Delpit....... are still available and those players are the ones that some fans wanted that dislike the Lamb pick.

Dallas gets one of those 3 players plus Lamb and this draft is looking like an A+.

Worst BECAUSE of Richards and Marinelli a non factor on the DL.

This is the about the players buddy the collection of players are the worst in the NFL. Nothing you say can change that fact. Cant gloss over that.

Now lets hope that changes with the 2nd and 3rd round.

When Henderson came off the board. It left a large group of DB’s that are all pretty much ranked equally. Most of whom probably have a second round grade on most boards. ALL of the safeties are still available. Which tells you all of them have second round grade. Chaisson was the only other pick Dallas would have been smart to go with. But he’s no where nearly as highly ranked as Lamb.
While there will be some good receivers available in the second had Dallas gone defense. None will be even as close to the talent of Lamb. Yet Dallas will now be able to find a defensive player tomorrow that will be nearly as, if not just as talented as any defensive player (other than maybe Chaisson)they would have picked at 17.

TLDR.
The Lamb pick was a no brainer. Except for someone with no (football)brain........
To me, everybody screams defense.

This pick helps the offense, defense and ST kick return.

More points? Check

More TOP? Check

Return KO and punts? Check

I liked Ruggs and Jeudy too. But they went earlier which just skyrocketed the value of CeeDee at 17.

This was pure luck for us.

I cannot explain it. It also helped that so many teams did not have picks in this first round. Something like 8-10 teams did not draft in the first rd.

Had they picked, no CeeDee Lamb.

Think about that.

Lamb is going to be like Greg Ellis now, he will always be compared to Kavon Chaisson for the rest of his career.

We lost to NE, NO and Phi because we couldn't score.

Best available! Cowboys got a top 10 talent. Hard to pass up for a team that scored zero offensive points in a game with playoff implications and is crap in the red zone.

(lost BJones, Heath)
CB's - Awuzie, Lewis, Brown, Canady, Goodwin.
Safties - Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Xavier Woods, Darian Thompson, Donovan Wilson.
To me that list is completely unimpressive.

Still some free agents that are available who can help the defense next year compared to some draft prospects. The team has to get better at finding plug and play guys for the roster and not relying entirely on a draft pick becoming a Pro Bowl player.

Jerry just said they turned down 3 different trade offers because Ceedee was too good to pass up.
Maybe they were from the Giants, Skins and Philly so they didn’t have to see this trio of talent for at least the next 5 years.

Ellis had to overcome a bad injury to his leg.

He still had some success.

How do you compare Ellis like this?

The most important thing here to know is..

unlike when we had the chance to draft somebody like Moss..we passed.

Finally we did not repeat history with CeeDee.

Horrible pick. We just lost our best CB/ Safety and we go for glamour?

Your thoughts
They stuck to the draft board which is what great teams do. Still have 6 more picks and no safety was taken last night so could easily get one tonight. Plus did everyone forget about free agency where there are quite serviceable guys available but teams did not want to sign them before the draft for two reasons. One, before the draft they count against next year's comp picks and two you don't want to sign a guy to the same position you just drafted. That is money not well spent.

Free agents available they could sign or trade a day three pick for:
Logan Ryan CB - 29 years old but very good still
Jadeveon Clowney DE - sure going to cost you but heck of a pass rusher
Markus Golden DE - another 29 year old but still a good rusher for the right price
Everson Griffin DE - 32 but good for a year or two
Eli Apple CB - just 25 and has played for Nolan
Dre Kirkpatrick CB - 30 but cut because of $$ concern
Daryl Worley CB - 25, past out field issues but good
Tedric Thompson S - 25, good ST guy and decent S
Darron Lee LB - 25, another ST guy
Malik Hooker S - 25, could be had probably for a 5th from Indy former 1st round pick needs a change of scenery.
O.J. Howard TE - 25, former 1st round guy, probably take a 5th and 4th in 2021 for him but kid is good
Yannick Ngakoue DE - 25, probably could get for a 3rd since you have to extend him for Lawrence type money but very good DE

and their are others but until you get to Day 3, no sense in doing anything until say 5th round on trades to see what you have.

Stick to the draft board and take the BPA unless the players are close in grade then take the need player. It always works best that way.
