The players love Romo especially Dez who is invisible with Dak. You can't tell me Witten and Dez would be upset with Romo at QB
Dez is invisible? He is averaging more per catch.....16.9 then he has in any season. That's a career best for him. Almost 700 yards and 6 TDs with missing games this season and 2 games with a total of 18 yards. Other than the Giants game Dez has produced and is far from invisible

Because Dak is 11-2. If Romo was 11-2 you wouldn't even think to bench him and I think it's sad that Dak can't just play quarterback and he has to constantly answer questions about Romo. Makes zero sense. No one should be 11-2 and have to be on a leash.
And no pro-bowl level quarterback who is just two years removed from leading the league in passing should lose his job due to injury. You wouldn't think to bench Romo at 11-2 because you would not even know what you really had in Prescott in that scenario. It's the same reason why you can't bench Wilson after his horrid display at Green Bay. Romo has been THE face of the franchise since 2006 and many here still believe he got a raw deal this year.

Pretty sure plenty of people don't think Tony circa 2014 exists anymore...and if he did, would not last but for a few games.

I actually think that guy does exist, but there's really no way to know for sure unless they upset the apple cart and throw him out there.
Not sure I want that either ....yet.
The health argument is a specious one...and a weak rebuttal where the issue of experience is concerned. You see what you got in Romo once healthy, and if it turns out he is worse than Prescott or gets injured again, you can still welcome the future with optimism.

You don't sit the guy who now owns the longest consecutive win streak in franchise history.

It really sucks that our fan base is so venomous and nasty towards one another. Really detracts from a fantastic season.

Who the hell said anything about benching him???? Romo drove the Cowboys to 12-1 in 2007. I say that as a rebuttal to the greatest thing since sliced bread rationale that is current circulating.

in points allowed. They have been incredible, another reason Romo should start. Romo would never lose a game where the defense only allowed 10 points
LOL he lost 10-7 to wash back in 2010 game 01 .... ok looked it up and it was 13-7 but same thing.

looked at 2010 romo games, and this was the year after they lost to minn in playoffs.
Romo played 1st 5 games, they lost 4, so were 1-4 when he got hurt.
he had 10 td's and 7 int's. that was just 5 games.

To say what tony would have done this year or would do now is a joke, it is all in your head, no one knows, but many think they know.
He might have been great, or horrible, or injured again, or avg, we will never know.

Dak has good points, tony had good points, both have the bad aspects too, they are different.

I am all for playing tony a game right now, but I think they wont do that.
Fans dont decide this the jones boys and jg will decide on this issue, and if they wait till the playoffs, it could be a mistake.

if they think they might switch they should play tony now and see how it goes, and let him get some real game action.

I dont think it is tonys team, or daks team, it is a team that wants to win, so dont get caught up in all that .
Surprise tampa with a start for tony and see what happens, after they prepare all week for dak.
one game like this, would give us and them the info they need to decide which qb starts in playoffs.
I might even use both of them lol but I am crazy.

Maybe we should start Sanchez and watch Tamps's defense's heads explode. Or have Dak and Tony switch numbers, then run wildcat with McFadden.

The only pass he makes to Dez are when he's wide open. He has no chemistry with him

Had Romo played Church catches both Ints, Twill doesn't hold, Baileys field goal goes in, Dez doesn't fumble, and Romo proceeds to ride off on a Unicorn made of bacon!!

No player two years removed from the Pro Bowl should lose his job? How many years should you give a guy? If Drew Bledsoe can lose his job to Tom Brady why can't Romo lose his?

Well I know Romo can throw for 200 yards at least lol. Can't believe cowboys fans are so dense.

Yeah I was actually arguing with a poster during the game thread. He claimed this defense isnt good enough for us to go the distance. Ironically we were dominant and the offense was crapping the bed while we debated how awful our defense is.

Its not pretty and they will have thier struggles, but at the end of the day if our offense plays to thier ability then the defense will be sufficient.

Right now, this defense is NOT good enough to go all the way

PPG allowed through 13 games:

2016: 18.3
2015: 23.46
2014: 23.15
2013: 26.77
2012: 24.15
2011: 21.62
2010: 28.15
2009: 17.9
2008: 21.53
2007: 21.15
2006: 20
2005: 17.9
2004: 27.3
2003: 18.77

Since 2003, Dallas QBs with defenses that allow less than 20 ppg:
Prescott: 1 (to date)
Romo: 1 (2009)
Bledsoe: 1 (2005)
Carter: 1 (2003)

(Going back farther, looks like Aikman probably had 8-10 such seasons, but I don't have the data)

This Def takes a lot of grief from fans to media, but in the end, isn't the most important Def stat points allowed? Isn't this the only Def. stat that directly correlates to wins and losses?

You can give up a ton of yards and still win. You can give up few yards and still lose. You can lead the league in sacks and turnovers but that doesn't mean you are assured a win.

If you are at or near the top in points allowed, I believe you are going to win on a consistent basis (unless your offense is complete garbage).

I think this team can make a run at a SB with this defense if it can remain near the top in points allowed.
