So did Trevor Lawrence's.

Should defensive stats suddenly be credited to the QB now? They get the glory of the defense plays well and the blame if the defense plays badly? And since you want to keep on bringing up Dak in this thread to excuse the defense.

Defense blew this one. O looked great. Easy to hand out the blame card for this L.

On to Philly.

Nonsense. The defense wasn't good the entire game, but they made the stops when they needed them. They lost Brown and and LVE.

Kearse (?) got the strip fumble that Micah recovered. That should've resulted in three runs or high percentage passes to burn the opposition's timeouts.

Then they made the stop in overtime on the Jags first drive.

The offense once again flubbed the game away.

Ya'll don't understand. 1 pass doesn't change my mind about Dak.

If he completes that pass and Noah Brown runs it for a TD I would still believe Dak isn't a good QB.

1 pass TD, just like 1 INT, does not change 7 years worth of evidence for me.

Dak is playing the worst football of his career right not regardless of that pass to Noah Brown.

I can admit to Dak's INTs being a serious issue, you on the other hand wants to blame him for how the defense played. If defensive play is all on the QB, then why not just give the QB the defenses play checks or give them a bonus when the defense balls out or a deduction from their play check when the defense plays badly. I mean according to your reasoning, there's no need for defensive players to get paid in the NFL if the QB is the one who controls and dictates how they play.

I'm not blaming him for how the defense plays.

I say that his historic INT pace right now doesn't do the defense any favors.

Do you disagree with that?

It' doesn't do them any favors. But if they consider themselves a vaulted defense, they can't be allowing teams to constantly rush the ball all over them and can't allow big pass plays. Can't allow 30 points per game now that we are at the end of the season and their pass rush has disappeared at the worst time. And Dan Quinn can't figure out a way to counter teams doing quick passes to counter the pass rush.

This team is rotten to the core, no doubt about that.

However, I trust the defense more than I trust Dak though.

The defense got a turnover with less than 2 mins left (Hail mary to Brown on 3rd down) and made a stop in OT to get us the ball back only needing a FG to win (Pick 6).

I don't trust either of them equally regardless of the QB. They've both come up short when needed to cover for the other.............

Defense lost this game. Weren’t we up by 17 at one point. Offense put up 34.. I really thought we were going to win. Dak has to start keeping the ball on some of these RPO plays. Several times Dak could still be running if he kept it. That’s a big difference in his game. Keeps defenses off balance.

Dak has got to start keeping some of these RPO options. Had major chances to get massive yardage. He is what he is as far as a passing QB. Also thought they used Pollard too much and Elliot too little. But this Defense goes as Parsons does and after the first quarter they were blocking him with one guy. And we got hit with injuries that are going to hurt us going forward. We are going to have to move the chains and play keep away football from now on. Moore has to quit with the trick run plays behind the line. He did 3 in one drive.

I'm frustrated too, because this team is maddening.

BUT, "rotten to the core"??? o_O They did enough after 14 games to have already made the playoffs. There are a lot of teams that would kill to be in the Cowboys' position.

So while it's easy to blast the QB, the OC, the defense, and the HC (hec, the entire team) after a tough loss, let's not forget about this team's fortitude and ability.

This team has talent, it just goes missing during stretches in most games. Let's see how they finish the season and prepare for the playoffs, as a wildcard team going on the road.

This season is still in front of them, I'm still curious to see what this team can accomplish.

The pass rush has disappeared. They can't stop the run or quick passes. Allowed 34 points to the Jaguars. Even an win today would still leave concerns and questions about the defense.

Is there anyway we can cut the defense after this year and draft a new one with the 20th pick? That should solve everything.

It doesn't matter.

There are games where the offense and defense of both teams will go back and forth. You have to consider it within this context.

An injured defense made the plays twice to give the higher paid offense the opportunity to win the game. The first opportunity came with under two minutes left and they didn't even have to score. They only had to convert one third down and milk the clock. They flubbed them both.

We had a big lead that was blown again. Didn’t they say they promised they would never let that happen again..

When the offense went up 14-0, the defense seemed to relax, like they figured the rest of the game was going to be on cruise control and that the offense would keep scoring. The offense did have the team with 14 point leads for about 2 or 3 times in the game and the defense didn't capitalize, used to be that we could rely on this defense when we got a lead, but can't even do that anymore..
