Defense looked good, but be cautious

Yea, but let's see how they do against good teams
They were 11-6 and tied for the 5th best record in football last year. In a division we're all 4 teams we're above .500.

And had the 2nd rank defense.

Not saying I am sold on our team but let's not act like three Browns were 6-11.

You don't think Watson was bad? I think the Browns defense IS LEGIT. Their offense looked worse than I thought it would. Not saying they stink. It was a good quality win IMO. I just think you want to argue.
Argue about what lol? I was agreeing with you lol. I didn’t say anything about Watson lol.

And rightfully so, this team hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt. If they lose to 49ers again, you really gonna believe things are different?
I’m not believing anything is different I’m not even looking that far down the road. I’m strictly looking at game 1 and that was a game I don’t know if we win last year. It doesn’t mean we will make the playoffs this year or a conference game…it’s a nice first step on a long journey.

Because had we lost we would’ve had a lot of people saying we suck and the end is here.

They were 11-6 in a division where all 4 teams finished above .500. One win behind us with two of the worst teams in the NFL. Shake your head all you want. That is a fact. Sorry if it doesn't contort with your take.

I disagree, I thinks that the exact type of game we win last year. The Browns offense even when fully healthy will not be some force as long as Watson is qb, seriously, he's worse than Lance

Were they also missing two starters on the oline, and have the worst starting qb in the league?

How many playoff teams we beat last year who had the best defense in the league? I don’t recall many.

The narrative is Watson is bad instead of Cowboys made him look bad.

Watson is bad is not just a narrative, it's a fact. They showed the numbers during the game. He has not been the same since he left Houston

Our defense looked good last year during the first two games before it laid its first egg. I won’t trust this defense until I see it perform like this in the playoffs. No way am I’m not buying in this early.
Exactly. I'm enjoying the win and all, but Im gonna remain cynical until we do this in the playoffs.

I understand he’s playing bad but I remember us losing to the Cardinals back up last year. Watson got pressured 20 times and 5 sacks. I don’t care if you are Tom Brady there’s nothing you can do.

Wasn’t that before Diggs and LVe got hurt?

The browns did not have either starting OTs and their Starting RB.

Just something to keep in mind.
Jerome Ford is pretty much a league average starter. The Browns have been a very good team the last few years. This was a good, quality win.

The way Dallas laid the beat down on today, I’m not sure a player or two would have changed the outcome all that much.

That being said, it makes no sense to overreact one way or another to a single win or loss. You can only judge a team by their entire season of work.

We have to show consistency on defense. The first two games last season some fans were comparing our defense to the 85 Bears and Legion of Boom and then we laid an egg against AZ. Our D looked terrible against San Francisco and Buffalo so no way am I going to get carried away because we played a solid defensive game in the opener today. We have 16 more games to go and we’ll see what the defense looks like the latter part of December.

Definitely be cautious. This reminds me of last year, Started off playing 2 terrible offenses with bad QBs. Defense looked amazing and making all kinds of plays. This went away in a hurry once we actually played good offenses and as the season went along, they were the same ol defense. We need plays being made when it matters most.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but I liked what I saw so far. Still too early to tell, but the run was stopped...so that's already a plus.

Same with us: No starting RB and 2 rookie OL, rookie corner, rookie DE, 1st year LB who never took a regular season snap.
