I hate to pee in everyone's Cheerios the day after a great offensive win, but this has to be said. One aspect of yesterday's game should not be overlooked-had the Steelers not gone for two points an astounding FOUR times, they would have scored 34 points on our defense, including driving 75 yards in just over a minute to take the lead with 42 seconds remaining in the game. It's unfeasible to believe that our offense can bail us out like it did yesterday on a consistent basis. Except for DeMarcus Lawrence, our pass rush is nil. I was really surprised when the Browns were able to trade for Patriots Pro Bowl OLB/DE Jamie Collins for a possible 3rd round pick. I don't know if we made an offer or not, but we sure could have used him in our stretch run. He has their playbook down already, & was a one-man wrecking crew vs the Ravens Thursday night. That being said, we need to find a way to get more pressure on the QB, or we won't get very deep into the playoffs. Big Ben laid 408 yards passing on us. If we can't find someone else to help out this year, we need to draft at least two pass rushers in the first four rounds in 2017 if we're ever going to have a dominating defense. The only way to stop the Brady's of the NFL is to put them in the dirt early & often. We do not have that capability right now, & it will keep us from winning the SB until we do. Offensive games are fun to watch, but they don't win Super Bowls.

Our defensive lack of pass-rush is the major reason we will see Romo back before the playoffs. I'm thinking around week 15 or so Daks not going to be able to score enough points to keep us afloat. The vets on the team will be pushing hard for Romo over the next 4 weeks. If Romo continues to look good in practice he will be the starter come playoff time.

I can pee in my own Cheerios, thank you very much.

Even if they scored 34, we scored 35. By my count we still win. We won't see another offense like that all year. Defense had a bad game, but we put them in a bad position twice. First was the Dak fumble on the first drive, and the second was the long punt return that put them past the 50. Byron also missed a fumble recovery that would of set us up on the 30. Worst game they played all year and we still won. I'll take it

Exactly right.

And 55 of the yards the defense gave up was on the BS last play of the game.

It wasn't a good defensive effort but there's no QB left on the schedule who can do what Ben R. can do.

By week 15 Romo will be more rusted than the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz. If he's is put in the lineup to have to throw the ball for us to win games we're done! He'll take sacks and turn the ball over. He got sacked 29 times in 15 games in 2014 and got injured on one of those sacks. Dak was able to get the ball off to Witten yesterday on a play Romo would have been sacked on. Dak doesn't take as many sacks as Romo and is able to get away. We're not seeing Romo unless Dak gets hurt.

I agree..

yesterday I saw the defense melting down all day.

We clearly have little chance to go deep in any playoffs when the defenses forces the offense to have to play like this.

Defense is our Achilles Heel.

We stopped nothing yesterday.

and an offense as good as ours stalemated us.

And that offense has lost 4 games in a row.

So I'm not sure at all we should really think we have much of a chance in the playoffs.

And the reality is we don't play well at home. We are better on the road.

So it doesn't matter about Home Field really.

Well we all know we have a problem getting to the passer. As good as BJones has been, he doesn't have an interception cause we aren't consistently bringing it up front. Nothing we can do about it this season really, just hope the offense is that good.

Make no mistake, a balanced team can beat us. We might not face a team like that soon, but we will. I'm just hoping when we do, someone, anyone, on the DL has a game out of his mind.

Atlanta and their passing attack would be hard to get past in the playoffs. Ryan is having a great year and of course they have Julio Jones. Hard to beat them without a pass rush. Philly got after Ryan yesterday sacking him twice and putting a lot of pressure on him. With Philly's pass rush they may end going farther than us.

Go back to the 2007 season, we beat the Giants twice but their pass rush came on late in the season and they couldn't be stopped. I was really disappointed we couldn't come up with a trade before the deadline for a pass rusher. This team needs it's Charles Haley.

Dallas played a wounded animal last night, a wounded animal with a lot of talent and a rabid home crowd. They took their best punches and despite some poor playcalling/substitutions early on (Zeke should be on the field whenever we cross the 50 no questions asked) managed to win the game. You can even throw in the refs sucking more than usual too. Noone can predict how this D will play come playoff time, pretty sure the people counting on a meltdown are the same people who thought we would be 4-12 again this year.

The Stealers put up 43 points against a pretty good Chiefs defense. Or, at least, I think the Chiefs defense is pretty good. Maybe the Chiefs defense stinks, too.

Yep.

I don't think this is a top-10 defense, but it's not down in the gutter either.

Some of the negative nellies are going overboard.

By week 15 you may see Romo playing because Dak might have already secured us home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Everyone talks about a lack of a pass rush we are on pace to finish right in the middle of the pack as far as sacks go. Average Defense with our Offense seems to be a winning formula. Let me remind you we are 8-1. I love Tony. He might be my favorite all time Cowboy, but no way in hell you give him his job back now

I'm sorry your confused. You see if Romo had played 9 games and had only 14
passing touchdowns many would be seriously concerned about him because his career average is much higher. But you keep listening to the pundits who are deliberately playing Dak up to cause controversy and increase media ratings. I like Dak alot but the media our weak schedule and years of frustration have many seeing in Dak what they want to see. The truth is Dak is a rookie and basically a bus driver right now all be it a very good one. Romo is the better QB n Garrett n Jerry know it but there is no need to bring back Romo too soon as long as we are winning that would only expose him to a higher injury risk. The plan was always to bring Romo back but now we have the luxury of pushing that down the road to give Dak more experience. You simply don't go into the playoffs with a rookie when you have a healthy Romo ready to play. The same pundits who are saying stick with Dak now for ratings will eat Garrett alive if he goes into the playoffs with Dak. But Garrett knows that he knows if he goes with Dak and Dak struggles they will eat him alive for sitting a QB of Romos caliber. Garrett wants to have the opportunity to coach in the league for a long time that means being able to justify your decisions. He's the hot hand will not cut it in the playoffs it's fine for now though. Hope your not too disappointed.

The Patriots aren't on our schedule.

That's one of our main points. We have the weakest schedule in football and Dak is averaging less than 2 PTDs a game. At this point against this schedule Romos going to be averaging much closer to 4 PTDs a game than 2. That's alot of points to sacrice. Dak just got his first 300 yrd passing game courtesy of a big play by Zek. How many 300 yrd games does Romo have ? Try around 50. See how Garrett would be digging himself a hole ? Don't fall into the media trap they would love for Garrett n Jerry to ride Dak into the playoffs so they could rip them. They will also do the opposite if it's Romo and he struggles but it's much easier to justify Romos career numbers against Dak relatively mundane numbers. In the playoffs experience carries a lot of weight.
