The Cowboys would have lost that game even with prime years Tom Brady at QB.
Yes, Dak/CeeDee failed but it didn't matter.
Just sign the best free agent RB and spend all other resources on the defense.
Must stop the run.
Also, none of the CBs are burners. Diggs, Bland, Gilmore and Lewis are all good but none are ideal matchups vs the elite speed WRs.
LBs...Add one elite off-ball LB and Clark/Bell would be fine as the 2nd and 3rdLBs in the depth chart instead of 1st and 2nd.
Envision the defense with a Fred Warner clone added. Even with no other changes, that would completely change this defense.
...No, Shaq Leonard wasn't that guy anymore...
Having said all of the above, I wouldn't extend Dak's contract. He is under contract for 2024; although that prevents them from pushing any of his 2024 cap hit into the future. Coul
Give Lance a chance.
Couldn't wait to read this...
This one, Dak played poorly with momentum all on the opponent's side. Green Bay was already ahead of Dallas at attacking all Dallas concepts in the game and there, Prescott was careless in his decisions. That is still a trainable element that can be lead through. I'm not sure there is the ability to do just that. It's not just feeling top of the world, but seeing what is really going on. I hope that Jerry has accumulated enough instinct himself, to know.
Bingo on a mid-level running back for one year if Pollard takes a strong reduction in salary. Otherwise, what you stated.
Secondary is chock full of tough views. This game Gilmore was worse than bad even with depth at 10+ meters. He had his lunch eaten. He is a free agent along with Lewis. Add in Diggs first season after injury and Bland being taken advantage of in a few games...there are plenty of questions there or scheme changes needing some serious work.
I prefer a strong free agent for the linebacker slot and leaving the draft for a very quality offensive tackle.
Agree on the effect of a strong linebacker would add...even a new DC.
