Alot of things come into play, but the reality is that this D is good to very good, but it's not elite...

I'm suffering from "loss hangover" today but our defense wasn't "elite"....it wasn't "very good,".....and it wasn't "good" yesterday. I think we are in trouble.

Don't recall saying they were. Good ole fashioned butt-whipping is what it I call it.

They don't have to be all world...they only have to be better than us. Do you think our defense scares anyone on that list?......(outside of Carolina)

ahh yes..

the typical, "they did not EXECUTE properly" defense...

we did nothing to adjust during half-time, and it was all execution?

We had units with far less talent perform better, in this era and also when Campo was here. I see players like Roy Williams and Keith Davis allow gaping holes in a zone, I fail to see how that can be considered being outcoached
.

You have gaping holes in a zone, when a safety is looking for screen pass that could potentially be broken for 40 yards, because that is what was happening ALL GAME... You have gaping holes in a zone, because a safety is watching for a full back who has never caught a TD is coming out of the back-field suddenly and scoring a hat-trick....

we were destroyed in the flats, and our linebackers couldn't do jack squat, because they were consistently OUT OF POSITION... we have over-sized linebackers that are trying to chase down players who are faster than Flash, the super-hero...

none of those defenses scare the 'boys and by end of year we'll have beaten all of them sans SEA/NO (both of which could happen in Jan).

chicken littles are out in masse today.

we have alot of dumb players on defense unfortunately. tuna mentioned again basic stuff not being handled they they practiced and were well equipped and prepared for (ie. thanksgiving early bomb to galloway). this was very obvious watching live, and i'm sure scary to a coach.

time to drop the "payton is god and outcoached us" nonsense here.

the only "mental errors" were the one's by the boobs on our coaching staff

we have a "mental error" every time we try to rush another teams QB

so you're saying we made no mental errors on D and played the FLAWED and inadequate gameplan to perfection?

I'm sorry but the expression of Bill Parcells on the side-lines showed a man who had no clue what was happening... If it was a matter of blown assignments, Parcells would have been yelling at the players that were 'blowing their assignments', because he would have understood what the problem was.......

So what your saying is that, despite Bill understanding that the Defense was making mental errors, he did not try and compensate for these errors by adjusting at half-time? You do realize we changed nothing defensively at half-time? You would wonder if they really knew what they were doing, Brees would not have continued to throw hsi little dump off screens that went for like 40 plus... Are the players really that dumb to not understand what was going on if they are being told explicitly to watch for the screen?

what would preclude any adjustments he made from yielding more errors?

Glad to know that the expressions on people's faces are not an adequate reflection of what a person is feeling at a particular time?

I mean the players that called Parcells before the Panther's game obviously weren't calling him because they recognized the expressions on his face, the lack of fire, as that something was wrong..

Oh I forgot... that is a feel good story, and it is pro-Parcells... but when it comes to criticizing Parcells... 'mind-readers'...

The score board confirmed the staff was LOST...

Payton did what he has probably done every day in practice against Zimmer while he was coaching the Cowboys offense. There's no story here.

Ah yes... 11 men on the field happen to continually make errors despite constant pestering, as opposed to the god Parcells, who can only come up with a flawless game-plan all the time...

I guess the defensive pressure is always the players, not the game-plan... I guess our failure to put basic pressure on a QB, when even the most pathetic teams do it, is a telling reflection that we happened to draft 11 dumb players on defense...

well if you show a toddler how to hold a crayon many times and they keep dropping it on the floor either you change to a large crayon/marker, wait and try again, or take awaying the coloring book for a while.

right now they're playing dumb. that is a fact.

indisputable.

also the fact is we're 8-5 and control our own destiny where 1 win pretty much puts us in the playoffs (where the haters will dissapear and hide until we lose again only to reappear like cockroaches in the nite).

I'm pretty much done with Parcells' blamming everyone but himself. Those same defenders were smart enough to shut down Indianapolis but all of a sudden, we've become dumb?

I don't buy it. The coach would get my respect if he just stood up there and said, Payton out coached me from head to toe, and I was the stupid one that threw the red flag and cost us 4 points possibly.

Dude... what don't you understand?

We made no adjustments..

Karney scored three TDs... He never scored a TD in his life... But I'm sure Parcells expected that coming right?

Bush runs for 45 yards on a screen pass...

Henry lets his receiver to the zone, and Roy Williams is playing the middle.. the WR has the whole left side to make his double move on the strong safety... that pass was set up specifically by the TD run on the last series by Bush...

NO controlled and dominated the possession...

Barber and Jones combined ran less than 15 times...

are the players calling the plays?
