well if you show a toddler how to hold a crayon many times and they keep dropping it on the floor either you change to a large crayon/marker, wait and try again, or take awaying the coloring book for a while.

right now they're playing dumb. that is a fact.

indisputable.

also the fact is we're 8-5 and control our own destiny where 1 win pretty much puts us in the playoffs (where the haters will dissapear and hide until we lose again only to reappear like cockroaches in the nite).

of course there playing dumb... because the game plan is dumb... by the way, these are not toddlers.. these are men...

Old age on the other hand has a tendency to make people lose their sharp-ness, it makes people be stubborn, and it makes people just deteriorate in terms of keeping pace with a fast environment...

Parcells ia getting old...

Dude... what don't you understand?

We made no adjustments..
wrong again. we didn't cover KNOWN assignments

you're badly confusing player mistakes for coaching.

you must be getting old too.

alot of them are toddlers in the football sense (2nd year guys, rookies, etc.)

Ah yes... Karney was a KNOWN assignment... I'm sure Parcells knew that Karney was going to be wide-open all day and catch 3 TD passes.. it was just the fact that the defense blew their assignemnts...

when Peyton referred to Dallas being weak in the flat, and many teams, including the Giants were exposing this, you would wonder why Dallas and the great Parcells couldn't rectify this problem... it had to be blown assignments every single time..

hey, but we can always blame the fact that Dallas needs time to adjust to the 3-4 defense that Parcells wants... let's ignore the fact that for the last 4 years, we have had no significant improvement from this perspective...

Those same defenders were smart enough to shut down Indianapolis but all of a sudden, we've become dumb?

That same coach that was smart enough to shut down Indianapolis has all of a sudden become dumb?

Actually, I don't even understand why this is an either-or argument.

This was far and away not the best game Parcells has ever coached. Maybe one of his worst. Doesn't mean he needs to be fired tomorrow. Even Bellichick gets his butt handed to him from time to time (like, say, yesterday).

That also was probably the worst defensive game we have seen from the players as well, and no it wasn't just the scheme. There is no defensive scheme in the world that doesn't account for a RB coming out of the backfield in some way, and yet the flat was wide, wide on multiple occasions. Somebody was missing their assignments. Plus the safeties were up to their usual tricks.

Just a bad game and a letdown after 4 big wins in a row. If Mora manages to run circles around Parcells next week I'll start to worry.

and get it thru your skill that everytime we blitzed, Peyton knew it was coming, had Bush run right by the blitz, and catch a screen play for a huge gain...

wow... i admit i'm a saints fan, but i agree with brees' comment after the game.. the cowboys defense is a good one... some of the posts i've read in this thread make me wonder as to the bonafides of those posting... how many nfl games coached (hell, how many *played* in), how many super bowls won, etc

from the viewpoint i had (in my lazyboy), the cowboys simply got outplayed... now the reasons for it might be slightly more complex, but don't lose sight of that simple fact - they got beat on both sides of the ball... it wasn't that the players didn't know what to do or how to do it, it was simply that on this particular day the saints were the better team... it might not be so tomorrow or next week, but it was so yesterday

lighten up, you guys have a great coaching staff and a great team... they lost a game, that's all

No, you're wrong! The coaches can't coach and the players are dumb...

Until they win their next game and they'll all be fricking geniuses!

i hope fat tuna realizes and admits that he made as many mental errors yesterday as his players did. Payton kept running the same type of plays all day yesterday and Parcells wasnt even close to adjusting to what they were doing. Outcoached doesnt even begin to tell the story of yesterday...

Either he was outcoached or he's done a terrible job choosing and developing his "groceries"! Either way, it's his fault and he can't deflect the blame.

You'll take Payton... then go route for the Aints.

lame

spew all you want but you sound foolish and are simply ignorant.

he did say he needs to look to see if he didn't teach enough or gave too much responsibility (ie. Romo cited as a theoretical example) but it's not hard to grasp our D is limited by LACK OF SMARTS first and foremost.

I'll put my education up beside your's any day. The fact you would attack my mentality instead of the issues tells me all I need to know about you. Usually when a person doesn't have a leg to stand on they resort to name calling.

It seems that the only weapon in your arsenal is calling everybody else ignorant. You attacked all of the players as lacking in smarts and you attack me as being simply ignorant. It does appear that you think everybody is dumb but you and Parcells. Just because Parcells said the players were dumb instead of him doesn't make it so.

Further, how long have you been a Cowboys' fan? I have been one, and a rabid one at that since 1960 when they started. So don't tell me to root
(route) for the Saints. I was a Cowboys' fan before you were in diapers which doesn't appear to be very long ago. I will still be a Cowboys' fan after you run off to another team and call their players and fans ignorant.

Some of us take a loss pretty hard and the pain continues. I don't just blithely dismiss it and start talking about how we will destroy the next opponent. Some of us see the weaknesses on our team and want to improve them. Yes, I think Payton did a great job. I didn't even realize what a good coach he was until he went to the Saints. I would take him in a heart beat.
That is my prerogative. That is my opinion. Someday hopefully you can understand that you can disagree with somebody without attacking their person. Then again maybe you will never understand.

uh, that's how you defeat a blitz, quick passes to players in the flat, slants, and designed screens, you don't have to know your opponent to figure that out

we didn't defend those well, although it's pretty hard to defend a slant, and I put the blame on both the players and coaches for that, the players for not recognizing the Saint player's movements after the snap, and the coaches for not adjusting the game-plan to it

for a smart guy, you misread what i posted. i'll chalk your error up to disappointment with what happened on sunday. the rest of your offtangent rant i'll simply refrain from comment.

recap - i'm talking about the smarts of our defensive players

Meaning, your not designing your blitz rather well. If the Saints are running these quick plays all day, and you don't adjust but keep running a blitz from the ends, what does that say other than coaching?

This happens after every loss. You should have seen the board after the Eagles and Giants losses.

I just wanted to mention that some of those "mental errors" that BP spole about were on Offense.. I believe TO even said he had 2 or 3 so it wasn't just the defense..

The problem with the defense was that they got tired, gave up too many yards on first down.. allowed the Saints to dink and dunk and control the clock and then when they tried to stop that, the Saints went downfield..

It was one of those frustrating days when you just feel like you come close to stopping the other guy, but they keep making just enough yards to keep them on the field.. before you know it.. nothing seems to be working and they have their whole playbook to call from which you are unfamiliar with.. it just goes like that sometimes.

Because of this, the Dallas offense just never got going.. it was frustrating to watch because everythign just looked out of synch and it looked nothing like the team we have seen over the past 5 weeks.

Credit should go to NO for executing well and not making any bad plays
