Defensive Backs Combine

Jenkins got the better of Clairborne in the side by side battles. They both still looked good but Jenkins was a bit more crisp in the routes and Clairborne dropped a pass.

Gilmore draws a few chuckles and laughs himself as he drops two passes right in the hands in his side by side battle.

Dre Kirkpatrick 40: Unofficial 4.43... Wow, I'm impressed. Didn't think he would crack 4.5.

I hope he proves me wrong

After watching Gilmore play for 3 seasons, that is a really impressive time and could land him in the late first round. The knock on him was closing speed. The 4.4 will boost his stock. Based on the lack of questions around his off the field live, he could very well be the 2nd CB taken.

He has really good hands or I should say he displayed good hands during his time at SC. Long speed was a concern. Given his size and the 4.44; I think he is in the mix for the 1st round.

That's a really good time. If he clears up his character concerns, his size/speed ratio is very good. He also has good film. Again, if he shows well during the interview process, he has the film and measurables to be a top flight CB.

Agreed; the hips are more important than the forty time. See Joe Haden for prove. He ran a 4.6, but was still the 1st CB taken. Was a top 10 pick and has looked like a top 10 since he entered the league.

I like Kirkpatrick and if anyone at the combines needed to put up a good run it was Kirkpatrick. He has been one of my so called pet cats really good to see him post a number in the 4.4 range

Jenkins or kirkpatrick win the underwear olympics?

4.43 kirkpatrick ...

what did jenkins run in the 40 (just wondering if jerry is gonna salivate)?

Well with that time dont you pick the bigger corner (6 foot 3) over the little guy?

(hoping we dont pick corner at all in rd1)

I'm starting to warm up to Kirkpatrick. If anyone rookie can start in the secondary in Dallas this year I think it's him. He not only started in a pro-style system but he's already gone up against great competition.

I really want an impact DE in this draft but I'm afraid guard or CB will have a better chance of starting right away. That is, if Dallas does not re-sign Spencer; Ingram would make the most sense at that point.

I can't say I would have a problem drafting CB in rd 1. Given the fact that Newman is likely gone.

I like Kirkpatrick a lot would not have any issue with getting him.

I think much of what Dallas does in the draft will be determined by what they do in FA. There are some players I like in the 1st rd guys like DeCastro and Kirkpatrick. What Dallas does in FA will likely push me more towards one of these guys over the other.

Kirkpatrick second run: 4:53. Didn't get a good start like the first run, but he's gut speed for sure.

yep I want to see him in the drills and his 3 cone drill

you might be able to run fast in a stright line but I want to see him move side to side.

FI he can do that well, I will eat my crow and say take hiim at 14.
