Defensive Backs Combine

Well with that time dont you pick the bigger corner (6 foot 3) over the little guy?

(hoping we dont pick corner at all in rd1)

It's all about the position drills. Jenkins looked like the best out there in group 1. Kirkpatrick is coming up in a few minutes.

Kirkpatrick second run: 4:53. Didn't get a good start like the first run, but he's gut speed for sure.

but can he move, 3 cone and drills will tell more

I like Kirkpatrick and if anyone at the combines needed to put up a good run it was Kirkpatrick. He has been one of my so called pet cats really good to see him post a number in the 4.4 range

I'm on vacation not watching draft, please post Kirkpatrick's workout, 3-cone times as well.

Disappointed that Markelle Martin DNP in the 40. He could have helped his stock with a strong showing here.

Well, I guess we won't be seeing supercowboy8 around these parts no more. He stridently told me Kirkpatrick was slow.

I've been posting and I said I will eat my crow if he does good in the drills and 3 cone. I wondered where you were when Ingram blew up the combine the other day. I figured you would hide.

From what I've heard about him, he can't tackle worth a lick. He definitely should have worked out, was he injured?

Let me say I based my views on Kirkpatrick well before the Combines I like what I saw in him at Bama. I was happy to see him put up the good 40 time because people have questioned his speed. I'll be more than happy to put up the rest of his numbers from this workout. In the end it will not change my views on him as a player

Jenkins is the best natural cover guy but has the nasty off-field stuff....

We didn't need the combine to tell us this; just watch his youtube highlights versus julio jones and aj green.

He was considered a better CB than Joe Haden at Florida which says something. He did clearly make a bunch of stupid decisions as well.....

Gotta do the study work and see where he fits.

Didn't hear them say why he didn't run. Probably chose not to.

Lol, I was on the threads.

Seems like you just got an appetizer of crow already.

always be wary of unofficial numbers.

kirkpatrick's issue is his hips. there is a reason there have been like five 6'3" or more Cbs in NFL history. anatomy and physiology.

he could certainly be our pick at 14 but that would scare me quite a bit.

That's why I'm not in an uproar about him like everyone else. If the Cowboys draft him, then they have obviously done their homework and deem the reward to be higher than the risk. If not, then the opposite occurred, or someone else was rated higher than him when we picked. Either way, I am positive we walk away with a great player in round one.

Its in the oven but I said he was stiff hipped and slow covering. He has proven he is very fast in a straight line. But I'm not eating crom until I see him in drills and 3 cone.

the drills and 3 cone drills will tell us about his hips

Josh Robinson, CB 4.29...Wow. I never seen him play, but reports are that he is a relatively unknown but shows coverage and ball skills of a quality NFL CB. Going to pay attention to his drills. He is listed as a 4th round pick right now but that could rise.

from what I read about him says he is a zone CB only. Has a hard time getting a jam and playing physical. Gret speed and might be a very good zone CB, but not a man cover CB that Dallas runs. A bit high in his backpedal. Too often allows a free release to the receiver when in man-press coverage

Robinson also had a 38.5 vertical

Want to see him in drills but can't watch to right now. I watch tonight. Might be worth a late round pick.

From what I've been hearing, and I saw some of this last year, the unofficial times may actually be closer to the real deal.

Robert Griffin told him that on the field they told him he ran a 4.35, but the official time was 4.41.

Last year, I believe Patrick Peterson was the one that ran a 4.2 time, but his official time was higher. NFL Network went back and overlayed him with someone that ran the same (or similar) time and he ran faster, leading me to believe the unofficial time was probably more accurate.

S Harrison Smith helping his stock. 6-2, 213, and ran a 4.57. Also looking very smooth in position drills and showing good hands. 3rd rounder for sure that might sneak into the 2nd.

Mayock and Deion are slobbering all over Harrison Smith. I liked him but was worried about his deep speed. Looking forward to the agility numbers.
