I used to say there's no way Romo gets into the Hall because of his contemporaries. But if he has a legendary broadcast career like Madden, it's possible.Romo's career was cut short. In my opinion his opportunity of reaching the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player are very slim to absolute zero but maybe...
Maybe Romo's early success as a television broadcaster is genuine.
Maybe his career in front of the camera off-the-field is actually a stepping stone.
Maybe he will expand and combine his knowledge of the game with his good looks, charm and witty demeanor into newer ventures.
Maybe he will seek out entrepreneurial media possibilities with his old franchise or even the National Football League.
Maybe he will not become another Ed Sabol but perhaps evolve into someone who contributors significantly to the league.
Maybe he will enjoy a long healthy life.
Maybe Sanders will also enjoy a long healthy life.
Maybe Romo will get voted into the Hall as a contributor 20 or 30 years down the line.
And maybe the alphabetical seating will place Romo and Sanders in close proximity of each other for enshrinement ceremonies that would follow.
Yeah. That was a BIT of a stretch but the look on BOTH their faces would be absolutely priceless--as would the looks (and comments) of the former's most ardent critics.
