Deion Sanders fires back at Tony Romo's comment about his tackling **merged**

As great of a CB Deion was he has always been one of the most selfish person on the team. Just look at title of his show “21th and Prime”.
Romo has been always about the team.

Two end of the spectrum. Go Romo!

The only tackling Deion actually admits too...

From his HOF Speech
I leave you with this. Many of my naysayers said Prime didn't tackle. I want to respond to that. Because it bothers me. Insinuating that I'm soft. I got kids. Since 1989, I've tackled every bill my Mama has ever given me. Hadn't missed one. Next time they say Prime didn't tackle, make sure you let 'em know, yes he did.

Nice of you to take care of your family. However you are far from the only athlete to help take care of their families.

But at the end of the day, the criticism is still truth ...you did not like to tackle and you often made money decisions instead of tackling.
You were also so good and naturally talented that you did not have to tackle as much as other DBs...but you did make money decisions many times when tackle situations came up.

Lost in all of this?

We have yet to hear from Peters, and he was the main target in the denigrating comment. I mean, I don't know the guy, and Tony could be 100% correct in his tackling prowess, but kudos to Peters (thus far) taking the high road and not firing back. Deion? You knew he couldn't not fire back.

YouTube what he did to Tim McCarver when Tim criticized him for playing football while his baseball team was in the playoffs. Love Deion, but probably not as much as Deion loves himself some Deion.

I place Sanders in the same category as T.O.. Yeah sure they wore a Cowboys uniform at a point in their careers, but I have never excepted them as a Cowboy.

All I have to say is Romo lying?....if he isnt then why is Peon getting all butt hurt about it?

Do you really believe what you just said?
Absolutely. How many years was he in Atlanta and that team didn't come close to a SB? If he would have stayed he never would have won one. He was a great corner but make no mistake, he wouldn't have won a SB if he didn't go to the two teams that were the best at that time.

Just seemed odd for a guy who never reached the NFC championship is taking shots at someone. Mcnabb is more qualified to work for CBS than he is but thats another debate for another day.

now this comment is beyond the pale as regards logic.

So any player that never got to the SB or Championship game is not qualified in your view to be a broadcaster/commentator?

DO you really ever read what you post?

Deion made a lot of business decisions when he was playing.

Honestly, if you've paid attention to Deion's commentary on NFL Network over the years when Tony Romo was playing, you could tell that he had a deep disdain for Romo.
When Romo would play well or lead a comeback, you would hear very small praise from him and Faulk. But when Romo would screw up it was "there he goes again" and they would go on and on about how Tony isnt a good QB.

Look at that clip. Deion was furious behind that fake smile. The fact that he said that Romo keeps taking shots at him over the years is absolutely absurd.
Deion and Faulk did that for years and Romo didnt say anything.

That game where Romo was invited up to the set when he was player of the game and had to sit between Faulk and Deion was high comedy.
THIS

It has been completely transparent over the years how Deion has felt about Tony. It's fine if you don't like a player (everyone has their preferences) but the biases shouldn't be so obvious and unprofessional in the studio coverage. he could do something miraculous and get nothing from Deion. But flip the script and he goes bananas.
Irvin, Staubach, and most all of the other ex Cowboys do not agree with Deion on this topic.

This is just animosity between 2 guys... In the end... they both have a grudge for each other. IMO. Deion. whether we like it or not... did win the big one.

Romo is not qualified to poke fun at a champion and hall of famer. Especially since he was the interception man for many years. He is getting a little too cocky for a person who never accomplished anything

His team did, right?
That's what you meant, I'm sure.
Deion isn't winning anything if he plays with Cleveland's talent his whole career.
he was awesome, but he was surrounded by Hall of Famers. too.
team game, brother.

Hahhahahhahah....I didn't think Prime was that sensitive especially about his lack of tackling that EVERYONE knew about. Even he admitted to making business decisions.

Well....Prime didn't say anything wrong and neither did Romo. He just comes off rather sensitive.

That's silly. So in order to poke fun or to analyze a player or game....you have to be a Hall of Famer? Prime was a great corner. But he was a NFL player like everyone else. His little feelings got hurt because his poor tackling got brought up. For someone who has a gold jacket he didn't have to buy and Super Bowl rings......you would think he wouldn't care about being poked at........
