Deion Sanders fires back at Tony Romo's comment about his tackling **merged**

You're just making excuses.
First, he ALREADY made a dig at Peters by saying he doesn't like contact. He took a dig at Deion by inserting him into a game Deion wasn't playing.
Second, yes, it was a pre-mediated dig. Again, unless Romo has Deion on the brain, he had to think about Deion before he said it. It's IMPOSSIBLE for you to blurt out someone's name in a deliberate fashion unless you think about that person. The only exception would be when you're so familiar with a person that it becomes second nature to say their name, like when I accidentally call someone by my wife's name. I'm so around my wife and so often speak her name that I sometimes address a female coworker with a similar name by her name.
Third, if every single one of us knows then that indicts Romo even more because we could have drawn the conparison ourselves without him mentioning the obvious.
No, Romo knew EXACTLY what he was doing. This was payback time. Even Stevie Wonder could see it. :D

So I hope Deion gets super upset whenever someone mentions him with another corner that is good in coverage but doesn't tackle well and takes it as a huge dig like he did with Romo.

Glad someone else thought the same thing. I am not certain how Sanders would respond but it will be great seeing what the reaction will be.

Maybe he will. Maybe he won't. Shrug.

Yeah.. I'm sure he doesn't watch the NFL draft and the combine leading up to it whenever every corner who doesn't tackle well gets the Deion comparison and the analysis says Deion made a HOF career out of it.

I don't think he was purposely going at Deion at all.

He was trying to criticize Peters tackling while also pay him a compliment by saying he covers at a high level but doesn't tackle at a high level much like the best corner that's ever played in the NFL.

I agree this is what Romo was aiming for.

Only an insecure narcissist like Deion Sanders would take offense to the playful reference Romo put out there.

Even if he meant it as a dig- I still don't care. Sanders can't stand Romo and can barely hide it. I wonder why- that's the good stuff in the story we won't ever be privy to.

Obviously, he's a bit more sensitive towards Romo because he unleashed a scathing criticism of Romo based on his perception of him as a quarterback.
I really don't think Tony is bothered by it, though. He's poised to be a legend in the broadcast both while Deion is relegated to his hip Twitter podcast.
And, yes, I hate that segment.

Sanders placed himself squarely within a possible catch-22 scenario. According to Sanders own reasoning, Romo was not qualified to make the comment because he was not a Hall of Famer like him. What if a Hall of Famer makes that comparison? Dude will be scrambling to respond with something coherently sensible.

If you're human, you'd take offense because no one likes negative things being said about them.
But HOW Deion responded was childish and immature. Over the top, IMO.

I explained it earlier in the thread. That is why Deion and Faulk hated romo and held a grudge. They only talked about his mistakes for years.

Well you would think when the player echoes it himself it would be a green light for other people to say it.

I wouldn't think a HOF corner who is considered the best CB ever would be so sensitive. You think he'd let something even he has agreed with roll off his shoulder a little easier.

On that note.... Screw Deion.. He's been horrible for years and isn't likable.

If Romo made the comment intentionally, he can certainly be satisfied with Sanders' foolish reaction.

If Romo did not intentionally mean to offend with the comment, he received a response that was disproportionate in relation to what he said.

Romo has little, if any, reason to be concerned about the matter whatsoever. On the other hand, Sanders' handling (and possible continued handling) of the non-issue is a totally different matter.

On a side note-

Amen to Deion Sanders kissing his ROH induction ceremony "hiiii, and byeeee."

Aint happenin bruh. Deuces!

Deion is the best corner I've ever seen. I wish he never played here. First-class fraud of a human being. Should be in prison for what he's done through his "academy".

Well done, Tony. LOL
Well put.

If only Romo could tackle all those who intercepted him in December games. He could have had 3 career playoff wins!

I've got to say, I just watched Deion's response on NFL network. Obviously rehearsed. It's like Primetime studied Romo's Wikipedia page to find his worst stats. His anger really showed his disdain for Tony. I've heard plenty of commentators and former players remark about Deion's penchant for avoiding contact. It wouldn't surprise me if Sanders gets paid every time the frase "he made a business decision" is used. Deion, you referenced your tackling in your own HOF speech!

But Tony using it was more than he could stand. How dare he. "I even shook his hand and welcomed him to CBS." As if he made a concession. I could understand a shot back in response but come on Deion, a viseral monologue? I've seen Sanders dis Romo after games with back handed comments to his face a few times. Last year he said Romo will go to Texans because they had a defense that could cover his mistakes. Tony always took the high road.

You were the best cover corner I've ever seen. You are also king size classless dik.

Tony should ask Deion how many rings he would have had he played on the team that drafted/signed him his whole career.
You know like tony did.
