Deion Sanders fires back at Tony Romo's comment about his tackling **merged**

Don't know who said Deion was trash. He was one of the best corners of all time. That's why he is in the HOF. He also hated to tackle and has a giant size ego. All truths. Didn't care much for him as a person and still don't.

Did Deion say somewhere that Romo lied about him?
No and that is why his reaction holds zero water. Romo nailed the tackling comparison. There was nothing falsely said or implied. Simply put, Sanders' feelings were hurt and he lashed out courtesy of NFL Network's platform. The ONLY way Sanders could publicly debunk Romo's color analysis would be demonstrating what Romo said was erroneous. Sanders could not, so his response was a typical preschool playground I-Don't-Like-What-You-Said-Dumbhead! spat. Sad.

Deion should probably think about throwing stones if he wants to live in a glass house.

I was responding to everyone taking shots at Deion as if he was not a flat out top 3 player at his position all time. Does not mean Romo can't criticize him. But lets not act like Deion was trash JUST because he said something about Romo. I personally think this fanbase has been lulled into valuing a whole lot besides winning....because frankly...we have not won since the days of Deion. And again...a lot of those Cowboys were hated then and now by non Cowboys fans. Why? Because they won..and they let you know about it. Just because we don't win anymore...is no reason for us to get sensitive about someone picking on former Cowboys who did not come CLOSE to winning.

Deion was never trash on the football field, just off of it. Winning football games has nothing to do with this topic. Losing your cool and your dignity does, however.

There are plenty of top 5 players that have a huge negative to them. Randy Moss being one of them.

As great as Sanders was in coverage, he simply made it easy to criticize him due to not being an all-around CB. Sanders got by on a lot of natural talent and talk, same goes for Moss. Sanders may arguably be the best cover corner, but when it comes to all-around corners, there were better ones.

I bring up Randy Moss because he's a great comparison, just on the opposite side of the ball. He may arguably be the fastest and most talented WR to ever enter the league - but he was never an all-around great WR. Never perfected his route running,

What players like Moss and Sanders did well, they were the best at. But in other areas, they left a lot to be desired and it can't be ignored. You can probably make a lowlight tape alongside his highlights of him acting like he was going to make a tackle just to allow the guy run by him.

Also, let me just say this - comparing a CB career to a QB career is really just ridiculous. QBs, are normally and unfairly maligned for never getting a trophy. There are exceptions.

Sanders would have never had this weight on him - he could have stayed in Atlanta and eventually ended up in the HOF due to his abilities along and not the W/L record.

There are plenty of stats you can point to with Romo to show he was one of the better QBs to ever play the game - but due to few playoff experiences, playoff wins, and no ring - all of that is completely ignored.

Deion never won jack sh until he joined the best two teams in football. He's the original Kevin Durant.

Romo doesnt have to respond to this with a single word and still Deion still comes out of this looking full of jealousy, unprofessional, and genearally just not looking good.

This is why I vouch for the validity of this guy. He can be abrasive to some, but he calls it and I, personally, haven't read him to be unfair.
Unless I can be shown otherwise...

Not for anything but I think Deion was the best cover corner ever, at least in my lifetime and Randy Moss may be the best receiver in my lifetime as well. Beating that horse again but biggest mistake Jerry has made was bypassing Moss, would have been an all time Cowboy great with a star on his helmet. Deion ***** up with his over the top attack of Romo, it makes him look plenty small...u could even see it in his rant how painful it was. This attack goes way back to something much much deeper, Deion for some reason feels small when it comes to Romo...it's very interesting to see.

The point is Romo was a failure as a Cowboys QB since he never reached the NFC championship. So how can he take shots at anyone who is in the hall of fame?

They were both professional athletes that played at a high level, thus he is qualified to say whatever the **** he wants about Deion; an individual who did not single handedly take his team to the super bowl. Most professional athletes aren't as shallow as you and Neon Peon with respect to another individual's body of work. They know what it takes to compete at such a high level, and are acutely aware of the variables and idiosycrancies that determine success; and that nothing is a given. They both were starters for their franchises and had long tenured careers doing what they do. Tony is more than qualified to comment on another idiot's tackling ability

Please stop,

Romo was the starter for every game from 2011 to 2013 and the team missed the playoffs for 3 seasons in a row. He also threw double digit interceptions each season which was a total of 39 interceptions. Up until 2013, he only had 1 playoff win and was one and done twice as a playoff starting QB. So Romo needs to stop acting like he is well accomplished because like deion said he didn't accomplish anything.

You are completely vain

Deion is an idiot and he looks more foolish the more he talks. I see talking heads on the sports channels criticizing players left and right who never played the game. Are they ever called out?

Millionaire athletes have a right to talk about other millionaire athletes. You're not in that club so you have a right to shut your petty mouth and take it. It's really that simple. Otherwise, I guess NFL network, bspn, and other sports networks need to fire any and all panelists that don't have at least one championship on their resume.

This is false.

This is irrelevant. From 2011-2013, Only 4 quarterbacks were intercepted less often than Romo: Rodgers, Brady, P. Manning and (by a hair) Brees.

Please do some actual research in the future to avoid confusion, and stop relying on your nonexistent football knowledge.

The difference is romo just stopped playing and only been a CBS analyst for a short period of time. So how can he start poking fun at players in the hall of fame when his overall career was not hall of fame material??

How bout he try succeeding at his current job first before taking shots at other accomplished players??

Ok out of 48 games from 2011 to 2013 he started in 47. My mistake
