Sooo..

Anyone want to take a guess or have some info about what happened here?

I'm a bit confused..all reports indicated he played great in camp, his first 3 preseason games he played well..and now not only do we cut him we don't even sign him to the PS?

Seems odd..

We read reports written by reporters. Players get evaluated by coaches who actually know the assignments. A guy might look good, but that could often be because he is getting away with mistakes that end of the roster offensive players aren't exploiting

One of things I thought was telling in terms of what coaches thought is that in the fourth preseason game Swanson started on the left side, which in the regular season would presumably be against a teams best receiver.

He could be getting over some hard feelings and refused to sign. I can't imagine they wouldn't want him on the PS and it may still happen. Maybe he is looking around at all his options.

The coaches watched WeDone complete a pass for a TD against him. That was enough for them to know he wasn't going to make it in the NFL as a CB.

He is aggressive but not fast enough or quick enough to recover from mistakes. That's a recipe for getting beat deep ... a bunch.

That has a lot to do with it , he let the receiver get behind him for a 60 yard td with less than a minute go, thats a big no-no

Was there a pass pattern he didn't get beat on that night? I think Defense threw the book at him and then burned it.

If there is any consolation after an entire game of harassment, he should easily clear waivers in the event Dallas values him enough for the Practice Squad.

I lose track of ps eligibility but he has been around the NFL for a few years.

One theory I've heard is that basically he's considered more athletically limited. Doesn't have the catchup speed if he loses the jam at the line.

Yet Frazier is still on team when he had over the top responsibility and took a awful angle on same play. Olatoye screwed up bUT that TD was just as much on Frazier.

Frazier and Olatoye weren't competing for a spot. Olatoye and Swanson were. My guess is that Swanson is just physically more gifted. He also seems very aware, got his head around consistently in that 4th game to get some good break ups.

As to why Frazier made it I think is simple. He's a athletically talented guy who is coming from a small school and they want to give him some time and see if he improves and were worried about someone taking him if they cut him.

I forgot where i read this apologies maybe BTB but they said swanson seems to be better at getting his head around while defending and does this naturally so maybe it was a fundamental thing. I did enjoy Olatoye and his aggressiveness but i will defer to the experts

Plus he is a drafted player and who knows what his assignment was on that play

Put Frazier is better in coverage then Wilcox. Besides this isn't Frazier against Wilcox. Was Olatoye against Frazier
