Was watching the Rams game and there were a few times I said that looks like Murray. I also remember how Murray use to destroy the Rams. They both are built pretty similar Murray is listed 6 ft 213 lbs at combine and Pollard is listed at 6 ft 210. Murray was faster 4.41 vs Pollard 4.52 but I think Pollard plays faster than 4.52 their broads and verts were very similar. Sure would be nice if Pollard can play like Murray. Until I looked at Pollard I thought he was just a scat back but now after taking a new look and watching in preseason I think he has true potential.
- seems like you're basing the comparisons between Pollard and Murray off mere 40 times, and that's just not a testament of what is translated as play-speed on the actual playing field.
Murray wasn't a breakaway back, he wasn't a zeke or Adrien Peterson that was a quick six homerun hitter (aside from that freak 91 yrd run vs Rams, ..ironically ditto with Alf vs same team)
Demarco was a serviceable workhorse back with vision and tackle breaking strength. but he wasn't ever feared because of his playing speed. Because the team.
backup Mike Weber ran the exact 40 time as zeke at the NFL combine (4.47) but its so obvious that Weber doesn't have anywhere the burst and breakaway speed that zeke has and so feared.
- and why is somel keep reverting back to what Pollard ran at the NFL combine, despite suffering reported food poisoning, but reportedly turned in a 4.38 time on his pro day ?
