DeMarco Murray didn't seem all that enthused about signing with Philly

I thought the same thing. It was almost uncomfortable how long he went on about the cowboys to the point where the press (Eskin) asked, then why did you leave?

He doesn't truly want to be there but it was the best of his options with the money.

Murray didn't want to leave the Cowboys he was running behind a great young OL that helped make him the offensive player of the year in 2014 and the Cowboys just turned corner after 3 straight 8-8 seasons. He left for the money it's as simple as that. When you make a decision based on money you don't always feel real good about it.

And some of the fan base wasn't all that enthused in getting him. On the Igglesphans boards you can read stuff like this...

"No way will I EVER root for this******* cow***** and it's a disgrace this ************** team would replace Shady with this *******!!!!!! **** him & those mother******* cow*******!!!!

Move over Gettysburg Address.
sounds like us when we got Terell Owens.

He looked and seemed normal but you know he was torn up on the inside.

There's definitely some hurt inside he's leaving his friends and a situation where he prospered. It's not easy packing up and leaving your friends and community behind due to more money elsewhere. He's going to be going against the Cowboys twice a year and that's not going to be easy for him especially the first time he comes back to Dallas wearing wings.

I wonder if he was just saying that. Or maybe it was a bigger contract but less guarantee money.
The amount of the contract isn't the issue. It's how much he gets in guarantee money. The Raiders could have offered a $44 million contract with $18 million in guarantee money. But that's not as good as the deal he got because there's no assurances he's going to see the end of that contract.

So, it's still about the money even though he says otherwise. I'd like to know who much in guarantee money he was being offered? I suspect it was less than what the Eagles offered, and that's why he's in Philly.

He signed in Philly because they gave him $18M in injury guarantees.
