On First Take they were saying this morning that Lurie met with Murray on the plane on the flight back from Foxboro. They were not sure if Lurie asked to speak to Murray or vice versa.

You could tell that Stephen A is big eagles homer as he appeared to be down playing the incident but if it was reversed (Cowboys) he would be paying it up.

chess moves. to take a major piece of a dominant division rival away.

it seems to have worked. with Murray in our lineup we might not have had Romo-less season.

i agree though his style is not suited for that offense. i never thought it was. i knew it was odd to begin with.

That move only worked because Dallas chose to do absolutely nothing to replace Murray. Regardless of what the Joneses were saying publicly at the time, noone really knew what the team was going to do at RB via FA or the draft.

i get what your saying but they did do something to replace Murray. They put all their faith in an OLINE and RBBC.

it backfired and didnt work. but they did do something. its just that something, that move, was a wrong move.

They went to the NFL's RB fire sale. They did nothing to replace the bell cow identity they built in 2014.

lol got it.

they tried what the pats were having success with.

The difference with the Pats is, they replace their players with players with similar skills. They lose Woodhead, Vereen takes his place. They lose Vereen, they get Lewis. They lose Ridley, they get Blount.

We went from the bruiser in Murray to replacing him with Randle for a good portion of the season. Granted, we only got a game and a half showing us what our offense would look like without Murray, but I still don't think we did much to find a player with a similar skill to what Murray provided.

agreed. they put a lot of trust on that OLINE and Randle and obviously failed at that risk.

but they did do something. its just that something didnt work and it wasn't enough. i find it hard to believe they were apathetic about the situation. its more like they were clueless.

In Philly, a player going to the owner is breaking news.

In Dallas, it's called Tuesday.

Yeah the RB by committee we have had here has worked out so well....Our starting RB is now Seattle and Cleveland's trash.

The irony in your post is baffling. We average 113.8 yards a game - good for 13th in the league. In terms of ypc we average 4.2ypc - good for 10th best in the league. The crazy part is Romo played what.. 4 games? No Dez for 6 weeks? Teams knew we were going to run. And we did it efficiently enough to be mostly ranked top 10-13 in every rushing category.

I would laugh so hard if they let him go after this season and he comes back to us on the cheap.

Philly pays him and we reap the rewards.........

The only reason we know about this conversation is somebody wanted it public. I highly doubt it was Lurie. So Murray or his agent leaked it to the media.
