Always 2 big parts of a deal the team wanting you here and the player wanting to be here from there is comes down to both sides making compromises. Murray likely will not get all he wants or feels he deserves and the Cowboys will have to offer more than the initial amount that has been discussed.

Yup. I don't blame him. Good player, but he wants to get paid.

True but with the Cowboys and him working on a deal should it get done before March 10th then you avoid any bidding war since no team can talk to him until March 10th

His agents know this. I'm sure they have a number they're willing to accept, but I would be shocked if they came to an agreement before he hits the open market.

I'm sure his agent does have a number in mind and Dallas has a number in mind and likely both sides will have to reach a compromise. If that compromise if more than Dallas wants to go or less than Murray want then he will hit the FA market and likely be gone. On the other hand when 2 parties want one another then a deal most often can be reached. At the end of the day it is not the agent who makes the final determination it is Murray

I think he stays. But I still would look at Gordon or Gurley if dline or corner arent on board at 27. Demarco randle and one of them would be studly.

I personally hope Murray is back, but like it's been said hundreds of times, it depends on the money. I think a contract of about 22M for 4 years is the max. That works out to around 5.5 per. Give him 9-11 guaranteed, which is in the franchise range and spread that out over the 4 years.

Say 10M in bonus, then go with bases of 3, 2, 2 and 5. That comes out to 5.5 (2015), 4.5(2016), 4.5(2017) and 7.5(2018). Odds are he doesn't see that last year, and we'd have 2.5 in dead $$ in 2018. He walks away after making 17 in 3 years. If he keeps up his pace, we re-negotiate/extend as needed.

This is a a pretty simplistic take on things, but as an upper limit, I think it's reasonable, especially considering the cap going up over that time.

I bet money he got a call from his agent after posting that.

Agents think commissions... Players should think $$ coupled with loyalty. Know that's asking a lot of todays " me society" but this message from Murray is a good sign towards the loyalty part.

This is a real man. This is a team player. This, my friends, is what a Dallas Cowboy is.

Not an immature guy who shoplifts and makes an *** out of himself at the police station.

This is the Witten of running backs. The Michael Irvin of running backs A guy who sees loyalty and team from the heart.

Will he take more money to go elsewhere? If Jerry insults him and plays the same gamer he played with Emmitt. Emmitt didn't have the rights to leave, or he would have.

Just re-watched the second Eagle game. The set-up for the touchdown on Murray's TD in the first half was classic Murray. The line made a bubble at the five, and he pushed the pile to the one.

Teams are built around play makers.

This player is special. This offense is special. The window is now.

Recognize.

Great post...

Wow. So he wants to stay and is doing all he can to get it done. AWESOME!

What do you expect him to say? I hate all the fans in Dallas but if i get enough money i will stay here? That would hurt his open market value. This would not be "political correct". And you have to save apperances when FA arrives to get paid.

Everything that happens right now is that the two parties (Murray, Dallas) trying to put themselfs and their accomplishments in a light as positive as it can be. So that they can get a deal that is as positve for them as it can be.

In this period of time its not fair and not wise to judge people by how they act or what they say. In a negative or positive way. right now everything is just business.

4 Years and $16M. That's it. Take it or leave it. If Romo, Witten, and Dez are willing to take less with a paycut (no restructure) to help sign their friend Murray, then I'll add more to the pot. Sorry, RB is not a priority. Gotta give credit and seek those who can make the hole over those who run through the hole. Especially when the hole-makers are also the ones responsible for keeping the QB upright.

Murray is expendable. Many backs can hit the hole. Murray is nothing special.

Priority 1: Dez
Priority 2: McClain
Priority 3; Parnell or Free
Priority 4: What to do at CB
Priority 5; Murray
