DeMarco's last fumble

I would say the TD to Adams was bigger than any of those plays. 3rd and 16 and a ton of YAC

That play was the game changer Rodgers caught fire and the Cowboys could never stop Green Bay after that play. The Packers had a 3rd and 15 from the Cowboys 46 and even a 10 yard gain would have left Green Bay with a 54 yard FG attempt in freezing weather. Adams beat Sterling Moore then JJ Wilcox who was in perfect position to make the tackle whiffed after a now you see me now you don't move by Adams and it was clear sailing to the end zone. That play rattled the Cowboys defense and they couldn't make a 3rd down stop after that.

I don't think Murray scores if he doesn't fumble.
No, he doesn't. But it probably cost us a FG attempt, which would have been huge.

Would be cool if the opponent never made a great play, but sometimes it happens.

Murray fumbled at the most inopportune time. It was a huge error and mistake. I am not going to credit Peppers as much as I am going to blame Murray. Also, I know he has zero homerun speed. However, that hole was huge and no one was in the immediate secondary. It was going to be a 30-35 yd. gain, before he decided to slow down and run into a Packers player, instead of maintaining his speed and gaining 5-10 extra yds.

We'll never know how far Murray would have gone because he got striped of the ball. 30-35 yds is pure speculation.

Uh...because they're plays that should've been made...
You're gonna get beat sometimes, but giving crap away with a fumble, not picking up a fumble, and then getting robbed by a ref, that stuff is hard to forget.

The Seahawks won a game in which they had 4 INTs. Good teams overcome bad starts and make the plays when they matter. Dallas wasn't good enough in the second half on offense or defense, that is why they lost. Not because a coach called a TO with 40 secs in the first half.

People making excuses for murray funbling. It's laughable. Oh it was the all pro Martin's fault. Oh it was a great play by peppers. Wrong! It was a fail by the guy who lead the league in lost fumbles.

How about the great run he made on the next drive and the TD he scored to make 21-13. That was a win by the guy that lead in the league in yards and rushing TDs

It wasn't enough to overcome his fumble. First priority for a back is to protect the football. He didn't do that.

Please, mistakes happen all game, every game. Obsessing over Murray's mistake while ignoring everyone else's mistakes is silly. If Martin makes his block on Peppers he never has a chance to knock the ball out. The 'what if' game is pointless. What if Scandrick intercepted that deflected ball on the last drive and returned it for a TD. Instead he got turned around and allowed Cobb to make a game clinching catch. I guess he should be released as well.

Emmitt's fumbles don't get mentioned because the Cowboys never lost a playoff game in which he "lost" a fumble. Murray is getting beat up by a few because he "lost" a fumble in a playoff game the Cowboys lost and some are trying to pin the loss on him.

:hammer:

One can't be more important than the other when the only difference is point of view.

Always on the path, Percy!

I want as much offensive punch as is possible. That gets one to the playoffs...and the growth of Marinelli's defense and new players added, is still a major effort to be resolved, but very doable.

I would love seeing Suh as the piece that Jerry just has to add to get over the top.

Actually he finished 4th in that category. Now if you are just talking about running backs then he was the leader of that group.

Thanks for the vid. It's tough to get a clear shot, but he looks like he's dropping his arm and swinging his arms in traffic again to me there. He's got a decent grip on the ball, but it's not snug up against his body in traffic.

I don't think his grip is that good. He isn't grabbing the nose of the ball. Look at the 45 second mark. He has his wrist bent to get his fingers around the side. That's going to result in a weaker grip than if his wrist is straight. A straight wrist and he is able to apply more pressure back towards his body. How he has it, the top has pressure to his right, so a little pressure the opposite direction at the other end of the ball, and it's an easy fumble.

Yeah. I remember looking for a better shot at it the week that it happened, but I haven't been able to find one. Like anything, it's probably a confluence of things--including the nice reach on Peppers part.

I tend to think Brian Broaddus is right about Murray in that he's a guy who swings his arms to try to get more speed when he gets in the open, and I think that really contributed to his somewhat-carelessnes with the ball. I know, this play aside, there are dozens of times this season I"ve seen him running with it and thought 'if there were a defender behind him, that ball would be coming out.'

DM is so good at so many things, but ball safety (no matter what his fumble count is) is not one of them. He makes me nervous almost every time he carries it, honestly. And it bugs me, because it's something that ought to be 100% correctible.

What? Dallas' offense certainly may have been good enough if Dez wasn't robbed. They lost for multiple reasons and the plays mentioned previously were big plays that had a direct impact on the outcome. Not sure what the hell you're arguing about. It's as if you don't aknowledge the plays mentioned as having a significant impact on the outcome. In a game where very often a few plays make the difference, it's understandable that fans think about avoidable mistakes that cost them - like the fumble.

I've been looking for a better view of the fumble as well. At the 38 sec mark . . .

It looks like it is a perfect confluence of events there. He sees Peppers and tries to protect the ball but as he lifts his arm, the bottom of the ball becomes exposed and it gets punched out. Just grrr!
