I wasn't expecting much from him honestly. I rather see what Brent and spencer can do more w this expanded role. Demarcus needs a year in camp. Then go from there

The people here calling Lawrence "injury prone" and "soft" are irritating me, because they don't know what the hell they're talking about.

Demarcus Lawrence missed 0 games in college due to injury.

This is his rookie year. He missed most of TC and all of preseason, and I guess since he hasn't racked up Watt-type numbers, he's a bust. Fine, whatever I guess, if that's what you expect out of the rookie.

But the people calling him soft and injury prone are simply making untrue, baseless claims.

Geez, another China doll!?!

Your QB has played with so many injuries and you can't give us 20 snaps or so because your chest hurts!?!... *****.

Someone please forward this to DeMarcus for me.

This may be helpful.

A few points everyone should consider:

  • You don't know what the injury is.
  • Lawrence may not have been dominant on passing downs, but watch him on running downs. He is a very happy surprise there.
  • Comparing a rib injury to a DE vs a rib injury to a QB is utterly absurd. A QB may get tapped a couple of times a game, and you can gameplan some protection. A DE is being impacted EVERY SINGLE PLAY, and it is perfectly legal to punch his body. So even if it is "just" a bruise, you can expect that you can't really tough that injury out.
  • Yes, his pass rush has been a little disappointing. He doesn't anticipate the snap very well and he tends to bullrush a little more than preferred, but it is WAY too early to call him a bust. Ware's rookie season, he also relied on the bull rush way too much.
Chill out.

No you went and did it, you brought common sense into the thread.

It might also be that the team's considering not having him active because he's injured and because they have a lot of guys along the DL right now fighting for playing time. The coaches have mentioned several times that they like guys competing to be active on Sundays in this group. Ie, it might not be Lawrence who isn't able to go, it might be that he's hurt and it's affecting him enough that the team goes another direction for a week. This is Fisher, and it is Twitter, after all.

I don't have a comment on whether he should play or not, because I don't know how bad is injury actually is.
Just out of curiosity, is there anybody... ANYBODY on this team that is liked..?
Dan Bailey, until he misses an important FG.

Cowboys were 6-2 before Lawrence played a game. Would rather have him out there, but its not like they can't win without him.

he is what he is so far injured most of the time and not a immediate impact. All people are saying is HE ISNT what he was in college in the pros, which is what we wanted from him or we wouldent have traded up, Thats okay though he is a rookie but so far... not gonna be missed if he is out so he might as well play and do whatever he can to help the team WIN

Some views are like medical recommendations from Dr. Seus...

Some were discounting how important off season conditioning and training is to a professional player. Houston's top pick is having great adjustment problems also. He was injured early on in the team formations for the season too. For a first year player, that transition line is a huge one when missed.

im still not convinced he wouldn't have fallen to us in the 2nd round if we just stayed put.
