Twitter: Demarcus Lawrence impact in Seattle

Funny a few weeks back I was reading an article about how he was washed and that was from a seattle sports writer.

The Tank they are seeing was not the guy who was here the last year or two.
new team good defense, new culture, there it is about football not brand or marketing yourself.
But he would probably be better than what we have here now , if he had stayed here.
At the time no one knew micah would be traded either.

That’s great. Sometimes things run their course.

Does he tell rookies not to pay attention to the HC (/I don’t even know who he is) because the owner is the real boss?

I don’t know who that is either…..which is how it ought to be. It’s a football league. Jerry’s gotta be the center of attention. Doesn’t work. He doesnt care.

Why bother to actually win when you can get so much attention explaining why you don’t/can’t?

No one is more shocked at the way Lawrence is playing than me. But I think they made the right decision to move on from him. He's 33. Even if he plays well this year he is still close to the end. Also, I don't know that he would have come back to Dallas for about $10 million per year. Good luck to him.

The sad part is I think Kneeland was supposed to be his replacement.

Dallas shouldn't miss Micah.

Dudes on pace for like 20 tackles and tying his worst sack total for a season with 12.5 (tying last year when he only played 12 games).

Oh, but I guess we're supposed to miss the "pressures"

I was glad to move on from both these guys, because D-Law is Dallas was lazy from the culture.
Some people need a new challenge and moving on is good for them. You should try it. Lol

Maybe it's not just Micah, Dallas misses.

I said from the beginning of this past offseason, it would be a mistake to allow D-Law to walk and sign with another team. He still has years of productivity in him. Plus, everything he said about Micah Parsons and how the team messed up by listening to Micah and refusing to resign D-Law would be a mistake has actually proven to be true. Our Defense would be so much better if we had kept D-Law.

You hit the nail on the head with Tank.

The Tank they are seeing was not the guy who was here the last year or two.
It’s human nature. The drive isn’t the same the longer one is in the same place and has become financially stable. And that’s amplified here in Dallas. Going to Seattle gives D Law a reason to prove himself again. The same would’ve happened with Micah had he signed here.

I get why the Cowboys released DLaw - he was old, expensive, and getting injured - but he has always had game.
A bigger part of it was that he and Parsons did not get along. They wanted to keep Parsons ……… until they didn’t. One player is helping his new team with his work ethic, setting a hard edge vs the run game, and pressures without losing contain. The other player is 10th on his new team in tackles and 2nd in sacks while half his sacks came in one game vs the Cardinals.

One player is clearly the better pass rusher, but he’s paid like the best non-QB in the NFL.

Micah, D-Law, Diggs...

Get rid of this clique that was always talking and always coming up short. I'll take Q, Revel, EZE, and new draftees. Culture change includes the players...

Dlaw might show up in the playoffs this year because he's surrounded by dawgs/leaders so he can just play. He's arguably not even a top 10 player on that defense. They are a legit contender

Dallas required him to be a leader and a top defender

Everyone goes and does wonders once they leave here, The pressure to play for America's team is no joke.
You've got it backwards. They do better elsewhere because those are franchises that are serious about winning. There's no pressure to win in Dallas because Jerry doesn't care enough about it. Just do good enough to "hang around the rim", but don't worry even if you don't. You'll get paid far more than what you've earned, because "we like our guys", and "comfort" are more important than being champions.

I thought — God rest his soul — Kneeland would be the new Tank so I had no issue with D-Law leaving.

Just stop...D-law was always underappeciated here. And he had to tip toe around the golden child for fear of being the next victim in the Parsons podcast. We should have never let him walk. Sure in the hell could be using him now...That's for sure.
