Doesn't matter I think this kid is going to be good and I think if we trade down to aquire more picks he should be our first round.

Unfortunately it does matter. The skinny on Tyler is that scouts don't agree on how good he is. If he were a consensus first rounder then maybe you take a flyer at him in the first. But I've seen him bounced from first to fourth round in value and he has those dreaded character issues. The War Room values him the highest and ignores the character flaws. It's the most optimistic assessment of Tyler anywhere (this, from the bunch who valued Kris Jenkins as a 7th rounder, and who currently place Brady Quinn in the middle second round).

So I'd say this: my program has drafted him from time to time but these days I just usually block him. I tag him as 'character' and set any Dallas draft of a DT to !character and just avoid touching him.

David.

There are enough good players in any draft without character issues that the Boys don't NEED to be bringing in problem children...

I believe either DeMarcus Tyler or Ian Scott would be in place to take Jason "Fergi" spot.

Warren Sapp had 10 sacks in 16 games last year... Tyler had 5.5 in 48 games, at a much lower level of competition...

Cory Redding had 8 sacks in 16 games last year...

Corey Williams had 7 sacks in 16 games last year...

Vonnie Holliday had 7 sacks in 16 games last year...

Cullen Jenkins had 6.5 sacks in 14 games last year...

Rod Coleman had 6 sacks in 15 games last year...

Darwin Walker had 6 sacks in 16 games last year...

There's 7 defensive tackles who had more sacks in 16 games or less, in the NFL, than Tyler had in the equivalent of THREE 16 game NFL seasons, at the NCAA level...

If I tried to list all the defensive tackles in the NFL who averaged more sacks per game than Tank did in college, the list would probably run 30-40 names long...

But my bad, you said just name ONE defensive tackle who was a better pass rusher... ROTFLMAO...

I'm not defending DeMarcus Tyler as a pass rusher, but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of college DTs who played 48 games who registered less than 10 sacks, who became good NFL players. Sometimes players just don't physically mature untill their senior season.
